So I was on facebook and one of the girls I went to highschool with posted that she was a grandmother and that she could not believe she is old enough to be a grandma.
She is only 34 and is a grandma. I just thought is was CRAZY that she is so young and that she thinks this is normal.

Re: s/o grandparents
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. My Blog
From what you posted it doesn't appear she thinks that is "normal." She probably never pictured herself a grandma at 34. So, did she have a baby at 17 in HS and her 17 year old repeated the pattern? Or maybe she at 18 and her kid at 16?
Babies having babies usually IS a perpetual cycle unfortunately.

She was 16 when she had her first. I say that she thinks it is normal because her and many other girls were married at 16 in my school. They would ask me why I was not married and thinking of babies yet. At the time I was 18.
I just think in my small SE Texas town that is the norm.

Not quite as young, but my mom had a 10, 14, and 16 yr old at home when she first became a grandma. She had a lot of kids over the span of 20 years. My baby sister could have easily been my oldest brothers kid.

This sounds like my DH's family in Arkansas. His cousin had a baby when she was 17 and her daughter had 2 sons by the time she was 17.
Um, forget being a grandma by the time I was 34. I didn't have my child until I was 35. My mom was 67 when she became a grandma.
