TMI waxing question

Here's my contribution for today.

Wondering what kind of remedy would work for post-waxing?  I get red bumps all over.  They will go down in a day or so, but wondering what I can put on them in the meantime.

Re: TMI waxing question

  • Ask your aestheticism for a sample of Finipil or whatever cream they use on you after. Or just use Neosporin Plus (the one that also says Pain Relief on the tube).

  • Do you take advil before waxing?

It could help with the swelling.

I've seen that at the store and wondered if it really worked.
  • Personally, I have not had success with Bikini Zone. However Tend Skin works wonders for me! It's in a blue bottle and I bought it at Sephora. Makes a world of difference.

  • I think that TendSkin is great for preventing ingrowns- it's mainly salicylic acid, which you can make by grinding up an aspirin and shaking it w/ some rubbing alcohol.

  • Sort of what Daisy was saying, i was going to suggested crushed aspirin, water and a pinch of salt, and using it to make a compress. Crushed aspirin is great for reducing redness/irritation. It's also great for sunburns, and pimples!

You may want to see if a different kind of wax would work better for you. I get that way with certain waxes and not with others. Also if the wax is too hot it can cause that.

  • I take advil an hour before and my salon sold me a tube of Finipil the first time I went to use after for a couple days for redness and prevent ingrows.
