Reapplying for a job?

A few of the jobs I applied for months ago removed their available positions from their company and job websites.  I assumed they filled the positions.

Then a few months later (which is now), I've seen several of the same positions reappear on sites saying they're hiring again.  I'm qualified and don't understand why I haven't been contacted.  Would it be ok to reapply?

I've applied to a lot of jobs over the last 6 months and have received very few calls.  This is getting frustrating.

Re: Reapplying for a job?

  • I hear you it's the same for me. I'd change/modifty your resume and yes reapply. what's the worse that you could happen?
  • I just thought to mention that my husband applied to his current company and didn't hear anything even though he is very well qualified, the position was posted again and he reapplied and was hired the same day they interviewed him. It depends who is looking at your resume really.

That's a very good point!  Lol.  I suppose the worst they can do is not call me which is what they're already doing anyway.  I've probably just been overthinking everything lately.

Thank you for the advice and it's nice to hear that your H had success with reapplying.

  • I know in my field this happens a lot because of budget cuts. I usually just reapply.

There was one job that I had actually already interviewed for and they called me back after I reapplied. I interviewed again and didn't get it again but I figured it was worth a try. I actually reapplied out of annoyance after a bad experience with the institution thinking I wouldn't get a 2nd interview. In the end it was still a big waste of time.

  • I would say that you modify your resume, as honeydew01 has mentioned. You might get lucky. All the Best!
