Sports fans?

I'm watching some Women's World Cup games right now and just wondering if anybody else is a women's soccer fan. I played soccer in high school and I've always loved the US team.

Any sports fans on here? If so, which sports do you follow?

Re: Sports fans?

  • The only sport I really follow and pay attention to is baseball - although this year my team (the Cubs) are even worse than normal....which makes it hard to care this season. The are 11 games back. Not even in the running.

I pay attention to college bball, but only during March Madness.

DH is a HUGE football nut. I honestly believe there isn't any football trivia he DOESN'T know. It's almost annoying.

  • I mainly follow Phillies baseball and Penn State football.  I used to watch sports, especially football, a lot more than I do know.  DH is not a sports fan.

Luckily he said in his vows to me that I could "check the Phillies score!"

  • I'm not into soccer, but apparently some girl who went to the same college as I did is playing on the Canadian team. DH and I are big football fans. I'm a Redskins fan and he's a Cowboys fan. It keeps things interesting lol.

  • OMG YES!

I love love love love World Cup soccer. Yes I was up in time to watch the game...and during the Men's World Cup I was getting up at 4 or 5 am to watch....same with me and the Olympics. I'm addicted.

During football season H and I watch a few games a weekend. I'm also a big basketball fan.

And I like baseball but I can't sit through a whole game unless I actually attend a game.

    Oh....and I'm a sports writer too. haha.

  • Huge sports fans here! Though, not soccer really. Our sport is football - college football more than the NFL. We love getting up on Saturdays in the fall and watching College GameDay....DH has already printed off the TV schedule for the games this year so we know which ones we have to be home for to watch. And we made sure to have ESPNU in our TV package....so ya, we are a football house!

Benmel, you's so get along with my husband.

I follow Pitt (college) and Steelers football, Pitt (college) basketball, Penguins hockey and Yankees baseball. I also love the Olympics and will glue myself to the t when it's on, and as of late I have found that I enjoy watching certain events in the X games.

DH follows the Phillies, Philadelphia Union (MLS), Penn State football, the Eagles, and is a Flyers fans during the playoffs (typically just to annoy me, I think).

Typically our teams don't clash (expect the Flyers-Pens in hockey) so we kind of watch everything. I get bored with soccer, which is what the OP was about, so to answer that, no I don't really like soccer.

  • My DH has sports on 22/7 (the rest of the time he watches the history or biography channels) so I watch a lot more sports stuff than I used to, and I even pay attention on occasion.  As for me being a fan - Pittsburgh sports teams (Steelers football, Penguins hockey, Pirates baseball) are a must.  My favorite is football, followed by hockey.  Baseball is fun only if it is live.  Of course a must for any live sports watching experience - NACHOS!!!

  • Yes, I love the Women's World Cup.  I have watched it and the male world cup for years.  I even had the trading cards in high school.  I don't know the players as much anymore.  I am a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan also!!! They are back in first place after some rough days!
  • My sport since I was little (4-5) has always been hockey. Year after year we have watched the Bruins struggle through a season with terrible teams, or crumble in the first round of the playoffs, so we are still excited they brought the Stanley Cup back to Boston!
  • My husband & I are both big sports fans. The ones we like watching the most are baseball, football, & college basketball. We are huge Atlanta Braves fans. We had a "baseball" wedding & used the Braves colors =)
