Re: HHC Check-in Week 2

  • 1. Did you keep your food diary? I did...even when I didn't want to!

    2. What is one thing you need to improve? When I cheat, I cheat BAD! Sunday was our makeup Father's Day and it was a disgrace.

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? Every other day I stayed right on plan with my diet. I did well with exercise as well. I'm really feeling great!

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? I did a pretty good job. I got in a few more workouts and walks. I need to still step it up a notch and make sure I'm moving every day. Starting next week I have Zumba three times a week -- so that will certainly help!

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.) We just have one picnic Monday. I hope to keep active over the weekend and on plan. On Monday, I am bringing a "good" dessert and plan on bringing lots of water and veggies to nibble on so I don't grab junk.

  • HHC --

This week's challenge was to keep a food diary for the week. Identify one area for improvement.

    1. Did you keep your food diary? No, I didn't.  But I have been more mindful about what I eat and have been mentally tracking.

    2. What is one thing you need to improve?  Exercise.  I just bought Zumba for Wii, so I look forward to trying that out this weekend!

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? I have taken lunch to work every day this week and not snacked when I shouldn't. :)

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week?

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.)  We don't have any plans for this weekend, but we had hoped to BBQ with one of our friends, so I planned on doing veggies on the BBQ and salad.  Other than that, I'm working a 10 hour day on the 4th, so I'll be too busy to think about eating anything other than a sandwich and some fruit during my lunch.

This week's challenge was to keep a food diary for the week. Identify one area for improvement.

    1. Did you keep your food diary? no :(

    2. What is one thing you need to improve? I need to actually try to keep one.

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? Although I didn't keep track of everything, I think I managed to make some good choices this week.

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? not even close. I woke up at 6am, but only made it out to run once. This week has been rough.

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.) No worries there! I'll be on a jello and pudding diet for the next few days after getting my wisdom teeth out. lol... on Monday the plan is to have a mini low country boil which is great because it's low in calories but very filling (crab, corn on the cob, new potatoes).

  • 1. Did you keep your food diary? Yes.

    2. What is one thing you need to improve? I need to limit celebrating to one day. I got a lot of free birthday coupons so I've been getting the free food on my lunch hour... not the best idea.

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? I cooked dinner from scratch every night this week - it's been a while since that happened.

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? Nope. I'm a lazy exerciser.

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.) We're doing a ham on the grill, instead of burgers/dogs and veggie-heavy sides. The ILs are bringing the not-good-for-you stuff like mac 'n cheese - I'll have a little and send them home with the leftovers. (PS - Today is Canada Day so our friends to the north should have a long weekend too!)

    Not at all! Jump in!

  • 1. Did you keep your food diary? Yep!2. What is one thing you need to improve? Not give in to cravings... I had fast-food Chinese for lunch one day and then Mexican for lunch another day. They were my only meals out and were both impulses. I should have eaten the much healthier food I had at home.3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? I was much more conscious about my portion sizes and kept everything small! This was obviously a lot easier to do at home :P4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? No, with Dexter being a pill this week I still didn't make it to the gym :(
    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.) We only have one food event planned, on the 3rd for fireworks at my work place. Everyone else in attendance is vegan. So they typically have really great flavorful healthy options, and I plan not to gorge myself on the vegan-ized mini cherry cheesecake tarts I'm bringing!

  • 1. Did you keep your food diary? yes - I used livestrong.com

    2. What is one thing you need to improve? tracking throughout the day.  A couple days I forgot and then did not do it till the next day, when it was too late to do anything about the amount of food I ate.  Also, I need to be more consistent - some days were over the limit and some were quite a bit under.

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? trying to get in more protein

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? I worked out every day since I've been home.  I did get in a very active long walk one day in Buffalo, but spent the other two days out with family or sitting in the car.

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.)  Try to keep active and be careful of what I eat.  My sister's house is probably the biggest concern as we both love dessert, so I'm sure there will be something good (although unhealthy).

  • This week's challenge was to keep a food diary for the week. Identify one area for improvement.

    1. Did you keep your food diary? This was something that I had been doing before, but did not keep up with it this week. I had been doing it while at school mostly, and now that I'm off for the summer, I kind of forgot! I did feel overall I ate better this week than in the past few weeks.

    2. What is one thing you need to improve? Snacking--eating less for snacks and less snacking at night.

    3. What is something you are proud of yourself for? Even without a routine with no work, I still kept my eating pretty regular.

    4. Did you successfully tackle your "area for improvement" in regards to exercise from last week? Somewhat, I still lacked motivation at the beginning of the week, but towards the middle of the week I did some working out and felt more active.

    5. QQTW: What is your plan to stay on the right track over the Holiday weekend (for us in the US -- just the weekend for Canadians.) I know that I will not be eating super healthy for the next two days with a graduation party and my grandmother's birthday party. So that I don't miss out on my favorites (aka, CAKE!) I will eat smaller portions. I can still enjoy those things without needing to over eat.
