I saw that article last night! All I could think was that it is going to be an awkward wedding!
Thankfully, my MIL is not like this and we have a good relationship. I do worry that she will turn BSC when/if we have kids.
I read that email too last night. I don't believe DIL to be is completely perfect but any good host would want their guests to feel at home so it's glaringly obvious to me that this biatch MIL is probably a wretched woman. DIL should still have her dream wedding but shouldn't be looking to others to fund the whole darn thing because her parents are out of work. MIL was a total C-U-Next Tuesday with her "you think your parents would've saved for this comment". It's none of MILs business.
I'd think twice about marrying into this family if I was her. My MIL is kind enough to keep these kind of thoughts to herself if she has any about any of her DILs.
