Kids school work?

Do you keep any of the work your little ones bring home from school or do you throw it all out? My daughter just finished Kindergarten and has tons of loose papers as well as 2 comp books full of stuff that she did through the year? Should i just get rid of all the loose stuff and keep the 2 comp books? Except for maybe some of the art work she did? Where and what should i store any of it in?

I would save a few special projects (art or whatever) and either scan them into the computer or save them in a file. Maybe designate a certain size file or box for all schoolwork/projects and limit everything to that size. My mom kept some of my art projects - and eventually she scanned them into the computer and printed them on iron-on paper. She used the pictures to make me a quilt.

DS1 is only in preschool and it's not everyday, but I keep everything. Last year he went 1 day per week and brought at least 1 picture/art project home every week. I hang all of them up in the playroom and at the beginning or end of the school year I take them all down and they go in a 12X12 scrapbook. I can't stand the thought of throwing away his projects (and I'm normally a purger).

My mom saved everything we did all year in a box, then at the end of the year she would have us go through it all and save our 3 favorite things we did that year.

I would keep one or two of your favorite projects, but I would definitely scan them into the computer. If you like you can eventually make them into a book on snapfish or iphoto.

When it comes to kids, everything is their first, first drawing, painting, craft etc, now you get how much pile of stuff would we need to store. You can store some for memories. Rest you can discard.
