Sushi King is pretty good in Columbia. I've always wanted to try Sushi Sono though on the lakefront.
Otani is not bad in Crofton - we get takout from there sometimes. Same with Fuji Steakhouse at Waugh Chapel. They are usually very crowded and it takes forever unless you call it in.

I've never heard anything but raves for Sushi King and Sushi Sono (same owners I think...rather different atmospheres though).
UCgrad: One of my coworkers was just telling me about a place she went for lunch that apparently opened recently (or she just recently noticed it, not sure.) I wasn't really clear on where she meant, but she said it was in the "new giant shopping center" and gestured vaugly toward the east on MD 198. (I work in Laurel now, off 198 just to the west of 95) Any clue what she was talking about?
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
I know everyone gets a hard on for Sushi King but I only thought it was alright when we went. I like Sushi Sono a lot better.
DH and I also really like Cha-Ya in Columbia which is right by the Greene Turtle and Ginza of Tokyo off Montpelier Road in Laurel (near La Palapa Too) is phenomenal!
I've wanted to try Cha-Ya but always forget about it. I'm glad to hear it is good. Ginza of Tokyo will also be added to the list. I think I've tried all the others mentioned except for the one in Crofton.
This is probably the Burtonsville Shopping Center @ 198 and Rt. 29. It used to have a Giant, but I think it closed.
