Charlotte loves, Help?

Time is ticking and DH and I have yet to find a place to move!!  We are moving to CLT sometime between July 16- July 30th.  We need at least a 2 bedroom 2 bath house/apartment/condo/whatever for no more than about $850/month.  We are having a HORRIBLY hard time finding good areas since we don't know the town.  Almost everything we've found ends up being in a really sketchy part of town.  We'd like to be somewhere in the 28209 area if at all possible.  Anyone have any suggestions?  We're drowning here!!  TIA!

I'm not exactly sure what the zip is, but some of our friends live at Circle @ Southend and the apartments are really nice/new and I believe they are pretty reasonably priced.

The Alpha Mill apartments in NoDa (the artsy district) are really cool too. It's an old mill they turned into apartments. 2 of my friends used to live there and they loved it. There is lots within walking distance and the YMCA is right next door.

  • This is a little further south, but H and I really like southern areas of Charlotte- Ballantyne and Steele Creek. We have seemed to find lower crime rates in those areas.

You may want to check out Whitehall Estates. We really liked those and they were ~$800 for a 2/2 apartment. That included water.

We also liked these apartments but they are more in the $900 range (but prices change so much that it's worth giving them a call):

    The Enclave at Rivergate

    Atkins Circle

    The Cloisters

    Alta Steele Creeke

    Retreat at McAlpine Creek

    Hope that helps!
