TGIF!! Long weekend plans?
Woo hoo!!!!
Today i'm leaving work at noon, having a quick lunch with DH, cleaning the house a little then meeting some peeps for drinks.
Tomorrow i'm not sure what we're doing, probably just staying out of the heat. Maybe we'll get some drinks somewhere.
Sunday, more of the same, then we'll head to Old Town for dinner (thanks for the recs! Nerd alert - DH picked Biblo Baggins, I think purely because of his love for the The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings) then we'll hopefully see some fireworks.
Monday, DH has to work so i'll be hitting up the pool with kiahj!
Re: TGIF!! Long weekend plans?
that's why DH wanted to go too but it is really good so enjoy!
i am jealous of anyone bound for the beach. the 4th totally makes me nostalgic for RI beaches *sigh*
tonight: drunken ribeye for dinner and prepping a big batches of sangria and spiedies for weekend festivities.
tomorrow: sleeping in, grocery shopping, cleaning up the apartment, and either a dinner date with the hub or heading to a bbq in MD (metro accessible this time, thankfully)
sunday: gym, working on cards for july birthdays, drinking sangria, and whichever of the the saturday plans doesn't happen (date or cookout)
monday: chilling out at home (perhaps will start a harry potter marathon?) then heading to our friend's apartment in alexandria to watch the fireworks
happy 4th!
Woo! And we get early dismissal today, too.
Today: Leaving at 2:30, going to get my eyebrows threaded and run some errands. Meeting some co-workers for a happy hour at Pacci's at 6:00.
Tomorrow: Walk in the morning if it's not too hot, then DH is helping do some painting in our building while DS and I nap. In the afternoon, DH is getting a haircut, and I think DS and I are meeting up with my mom at Cabin John. Dinner is going to be these caprese quesadillas (I know it's a baby food website but those things are GOOD).
Sunday: Dropping DS off at my dad's house, then heading to the Eastern Shore for a wedding. Staying the night there (hopefully not getting too wasted so that on
Monday: we can drive home early(ish) and miss most of the traffic. Pick DS up from my dad's and spend the rest of the day lounging and staying out of the heat.

Beach weekend (sorry, cheeky)!
Tonight - Probably have to work normal hours (grr) and will head out to DE around 7:00.
Tomorrow - Hang out at my parents' place, which is on the bay. Drink. Play cornhole. Drink some more. Take rafts out on the bay. Drink. Have a barbecue with friends and family. Have a bonfire. Continue drinking.
Sunday - Hangovers permitting, head to Rehoboth. Visit with DH's brother and his family, who are coming in from CA. Go to the beach. Family dinner.
Monday - Sleep in. Head home, with a pit stop at the Stevensville Crab Shack. Relax and figure out if we are brave/awake enough to go watch fireworks somewhere.
Baby248 - ETA 1/10/13
I am leaving between 2 and 3 today. It is dead at my agency today.
Tonight - dinner and drinks with DH. we'll probably go to Lost Dog and to the Westover Bier Garden.
Saturday - bike riding and possibly dinner and drinks with friends.
Sunday - relax and BBQ in Bethesda with friends.
Monday - no plans!
Dear SSW,
Today, through the end of time, we will be packing and unpacking to move into our new house. Today, I am "packing" -- because "packing" is so much fun with a toddler who decides to remove two things for every one thing I get in a box. She is getting so much TV time this week, it is ridiculous. But when it is her, the baby and me, it is a cheap babysitter. Don't judge 'til you've been there. I think we will be hosting a pool party on the Fourth for everyone who helps us during the move (our house came with a pool AND a pool table!). The house'll still look like isht, but it'll be fun.
Pooling our resources,
kewliegirl
My plans are all up in the air now. My friend from college was supposed to arrive this evening, but he texted me last night saying he suddenly can't come. While he has a good excuse, I have a feeling it's not as sudden as he makes it out to be. I'm mad and disappointed, but oh well. So my parents might come instead, but I won't know until tonight.
Tonight- Hanging out at home with DH, maybe cleaning.
Tomorrow- If parents come, just hang out at home/around Alexandria with them. If not, I'm tempted to go to the double header since the Pirates are in town (let's go Bucs!)
Sunday- Church, maybe grocery shopping, maybe pool.
Monday- Our only plans are to watch the fireworks from my company's roof top.
Planning Bio
Today: Working, then Chinese takeout with the fam.
Tomorrow - Monday: A combination of errands, visiting with my mom who's in town, cookouts and watermelon.
Tuesday: That's right, Tuesday. DS is going to daycare and I get a daytime date with the hubz.
Yet more entertaining......
Friday: I am getting out soon so I can grocery shop and clean the house. We have been traveling and then DH traveled and his mother is still here so the house is a mess. Scrub the kids' water table down since it is dirty from last year. Bake desserts for Sat/Sun - eclair cake and lemon blackberry cheesecake cups. Drink some Nojitos (so as not to tally ruin the diet)
Sat: Maggie has gymnastics class in the morning and then I would love to hit up the Germantown splash park for the kids. Then afternoon naps (hopefully for everyone), then cook for us and SIL(who lives with us) and MIL. Drink some wine.
Sun: Park with the kids in the morning (hopefully no rain) then other SIL will arrive to take MIL back to PA. Make their lunches and dinner, continue to clean up. Drink some watermelon magartots.
Mon: Cook a big breakfast for 5 adults and 2 kids. Play outside with water table and bubbles before all the shade is gone. Make lunch for 5 adults and 2 kids. Hopefully say goodbye to one SIL and MIL. Get a nap so I can stay up with Maggie to watch the firworks on TV.
OK, I am a little bitter about it all and DH will help a lot with the cleaning and kids, but it is still a jam packed weekend of entertaining that I had not planned on (MIL is still with us from traveling with DH for cousin's funeral). SIL who lives with us is no help and is irritating me to no end lately. I have a cold or allergies (but I can;t find my Zyrtec to figure out which it is) and all I want to do is sleep. Plus even after cleaning today the house will be a wreck by Monday evening.
Ugh, I am tired just thinking about it.
Finally spending our first weekend home in what feels like months, so excited! Also, our house guest is gone for a few days, he is great, but nice just to have the house to ourselves.
Tonight: Cleaning, working out and then grilling out with DH
Tomorrow: Paintballing (I am a virgin and now the only girl going I think, it could be very ugly), probably a lazy dinner at home with DH, maybe meet up with friends for drinks
Sunday: Church, Church brunch, Nats game, DH's brother and SIL might come visit for the day/night
Monday: Bike ride and swimming, cleaning/preping food, we are having some friends over for pulled pork and brisket that DH will be smoking and then going to watch the fireworks in Rosslyn.
I have a friend coming over very soon. She's never been to our house before!
DH and I leave for the beach tonight, probably 8 or 9pm
I'll be at the beach for the next week. My entire family are already there. Both brothers, SILs, aunt, 5 nieces/nephews.
We dont usually have very good luck with fireworks. They get rained out, or the traffic leaving is horrible. We may skip it this year
We're potty training DD so the weekend will be activity lite (for us).
Saturday - plying my DD with salty foods and juice and treats in the hope of a relatively accident free day. Afternoon and dinner with DH's family. I'm leaving DH with the kids to go to a girlfriend's bday party.
Sunday - church, plying my DD with salty foods and juice and treats in the hope of a relatively accident free day, possible trip to the pool for some summer fun, fireworks at a friends house (but only if Lake Barcroft does decide to move them from the 4th).
Monday - in addition to my plying DD, we have an afternoon and an evening barbecue to attend. Fireworks at Lake Barcroft if they don't move them.
Tuesday - Dinner with an out of town friend visiting for the holiday.
Yeah three day weekend!!
Tonight: Buying DH new running shoes and hopefully dinner out
Tomorrow: Run, then start packing, pool, and relaxing at night
Sunday: Mass then see day before
Monday: No mass then ditto Sunday (plus praying that the appraisal for the new house that is supposed to come in on Tuesday is good so all the packing is not for nothing!!)
Today: So far I have been to the doctor for blood work/diabetes test. After they told me the diabetes test was negative, I went to Starbucks and had an apple fritter and a mocha since I'd been fasting since last night. I also went to Target & the grocery store, then came home and made pie crust and brownies. DH's new co-worker arrived in town yesterday and it turns out he and his wife got a house literally across the street from us. So, they came by to say hello before DH went to work. Now I need to do some work, then fix dinner for DH's break, then probably catch up on the DVR until he gets home.
Tomorrow: no idea what we're doing during the day. I want to move some stuff around in my craft room/office so I can start using the space. We're having DH's new co-worker over for dinner.
Sunday: no specific plans
Monday: DH is in one of the local parades, so I am going to meet up with some of our friends to watch it. DH has to work, but I am off so I might do some crafts if I get the room moved around like I want to. I think I'll be able to see the county fireworks from our front porch, so I'll watch them if I can. I'll probably also watch the DC fireworks on tv!
