Just curious (not trying to stir up drama, promise! I'm asking for a reason), would you bring kids to a baby shower? Does age have anything to do with it?
I think babies are ok at baby showers. But kids that are old enough to want to "help" with the presents and stuff, maybe not.

Re: Kids at a baby shower?
In general, I think it's okay to bring kids to baby showers. As for kids that are old enough that they want to help, it depends on the kid. My flower girl helped me with some of my gifts and I adore her so it didn't bother me at all.
If it was some kid I didn't know that well that was all over me ripping at the wrapping paper and throwing a tantrum, not so much. I think it also depends on the parent and how they handle the kid's interest in the gifts.
I think it's fine if they're invited, but I wouldn't assume. For my sister's shower, I specified the mom and the daughter on the invitations (if it was a baby, I let the mom know it was fine to bring the baby, but didn't put them on the invite).
At my Ohio shower, one of my mom's bible study friends brought her 8 yr. old granddaughter who was fine because she was so shy she didn't make a peep, but we also had set tables and a specific # of chairs and such, so it was like okay, looks like we need another place setting, kind of weird to just bring someone and assume, IMO.
Just to clarify, I definitely wouldn't bring a kid unless they were invited. I don't think it's ever appropriate to assume that someone other than the person to whom the invitation was addressed is invited.
I think it depends on the group and the kid. I told my BF she could bring her daughter (7 yrs old) to my shower since she is so excited for the baby to get here. But I don't think it would have been appropriate for everyone to bring their kids.
I think it depends on the group of people and where it's held. I had 2 this time around, B was at one (held at my friends house, she also has a 3-year-old, with lots of my mom friends) and he stayed home with DH for the other (which was brunch at the brick with my non-mom friends).
