What kind of SPF do you use for your face?
I need to start using something daily and have no clue where to start.I have somewhat oily skin, I dont wear foundation and Im outside alot during the day. So anything I wear will have to be light and non-greasy. Otherwise by the end of the day Ill be a grease-monkey.
I saw some that were tinted, any experiences with those? Or is there something specific on the label to help prevent an oil slick?
Thanks ladies!
Re: What kind of SPF do you use for your face?
I currently use a Mario Badescu oil free moisturizer with SPF 30 and I like it a lot. IMO any sunscreen is going to feel a little greasy, and I find that the higher the SPF, the worse it is. The skin on my face is too sensitive for any SPF over 30 anyway.
For just sunscreen (no moisturizer), I really like this one by Kiss My Face. It does not irritate me at all and it feels great on my skin.

I am going to try this one next:

I have read good things about it - a lot of derms like this brand and online reviews often say that it is "light" - and it gets what I consider to be a good safety ranking on the EWG's sunscreen safety database.
The *only* tinted moisturizer / sunscreen that I have ever found that is light enough for my paleface is this one by Laura Mercier. It's very nice, but pricy. I recommend getting a sample of it (or any tinted moisturizer or sunscreen) from Nordstrom or Sephora to try before you buy and make sure you like the color. This one has SPF 20.

HTH!
I've been using the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer sunblock on my face and love it. It feels dry right after applying and doesn't get greasy during the day like most sunblocks.

I've finally gotten DH to start wearing it as well- this is the first sunblock that he's really liked also.
i also use this and like this.
I saw someone on another board recommend checking out Environment Working Group's website for sunscreen ratings. I've only barely checked it out, but it has a great searchable function if you want to look at their ratings of different brands/products. (I was looking for full-body sunscreen recs, as I am super pale.)

I recently went on a search for some facial SPF moisturizer as well, using EWG's ratings and looking at ingredients for something that's fairly natural. It seems that stuff with avobenzone or octinoxate (sp?) has the best chemical-based sunscreen (which is less greasy), but if you're trying to go more natural, you're pretty much looking at products that use zinc oxide and titanium oxide. The more titanium oxide there is, the more shiny your skin will look. Zinc oxide is much less shiny, but it can also be harder to blend in and make you look more pale (but that may not be a problem if you're looking for something tinted).
(I ended up getting the Yes to Carrots SPF moisturizer, but I wasn't looking for something tinted.)
