So we didn't get paid today. I checked mypay, and it has some code I couldn't figure out so I called- apparently, my DH is listed as "seperated from active duty" which he definitely is not. He is active duty in afghanistan. They said to contact our PSD, which I did.
They transferred me from department to department, I guess nobody wanted to or knew how to help me. In the end, they transferred me to DEERS who said that even if his status was wrong in their database, it wouldn't affect pay and I needed to contact mypay. Full circle. The lady at DEERS said I could come there in person and she *may* be able to help me? I live 30ish minutes away and don't want to drag my baby there for a maybe.
I did contact his Mobilization Officer (he is a reservist on an IA deployment) and am hoping to hear back and that he can help. It just sucks because we are likely not even covered under tricare right now.
Any advice? TIA!!!
Re: Frustrated with pay issue (kind of long).. help?
Thanks ladies! I brought my POA and orders (thanks Ojo, I almost forgot the orders until I read your reply!).
It turns out, DH's EOS contract was up in June? He swears up and down his contract was up March of 2012, so we have to figure that out.. but in any case, I was able to get a hold of him and he is going to contact his PSD out there and have them draw up an extension. What a mess. Hopefully it will clear up in a few days, because we aren't covered under tricare or anything right now.
We are lucky to have a safety net, so we will just be borrowing from our savings to pay bills until its sorted out.
Thanks for the advice!
Thanks! I definitely have to dig around for it. I guess it mentions that he may have to extend his contract in teeny-tiny writing on a random page of his orders, but neither he nor his mobilization officer caught that. Crazy to think he is over there working without a contract, and we are going without health insurance / other benefits. He has no admin to go to out there, but he took it up w/ his senior chief and it will (hopefully) be resolved soon.
