Friday confessions/complaints
Mine are all complaints--
I am really annoyed because my father-in-law is coming 5 hours early. Blah, now I have to clean quickly and spend the whole afternoon with him without my husband. We were only planning on dinner. He really loves my daughter, which is wonderful. Unfortunately other than that he isn't really nice or pleasant to spend time with.
My favorite bar closed last night and it makes me really sad.

I'm slightly annoyed w/ DH for not thinking exactly like me. Before we leave on vacation, we need to get the car washed, oil changed, air in the tires, etc. DH historically likes to do this the day we leave - which is normally fine, but since we are actually tryign to leave early that day and DH is off TODAY, it makes perfect sense to me to switch cars and just do the car stuff today so its one less thing to do on Friday morning, but he doesn't want to do it "early" OMG
Matilda - I feel like a lot of places are closing recently in Fed Hill/South Baltimore. It makes me sad to see all the empty stores/restaurants.
I have a confession. H asked me two weeks ago if I had seen either of his nalgenes. I said no. He asked me to check at work. I said I would. Then I said I didn't have them at work.
It was a lie though, all a lie. I'm drinking from it now. If I brought it home I'd have to give it back and since I lost a nalgene in law school H gets pissy if I mention buying a new one.
SO, much like the bloggess, I am teaching him to pick his battles. Get pissy and don't "let" me buy a new one? I'm keeping yours.
OK I have a complaint
I just got a company-wide farewell email (so ~ 600 people in 3 differnet offices) from someone who's been here for 2.5 years and I've never met her, never even heard of her. And, she did a total name drop and made sure to mention when she's going to Grad School and where she's going to be working and of course, please look her up whenever you are in the NYC metro area with all her contact info. The amount of hubris to think that many people care about where you are going is just annoying. If you can't honestly think through the people at work who you will miss and you should send out your contact information too, then don't send it out to everyone.
I know that we all get junk email - but its just obnoxious.
4 out of my 5 cats have colds. I'm hoping the 5th one's antisocial tendencies pay off here and she doesn't get sick, especially because we are going OOT for a few days. We do have our neighbors coming over twice a day to feed and scoop their litter boxes, but still.
One of the cats that is sick has asthma, so she's extra pathetic looking.

Confession: My boss is on vacation, and I am really not doing any work at all.
Confession/complaint: I'm going to the beach with some friends this weekend. Two of them are girls who blew off my wedding and bridal shower, treating the invitations to them like it was a Saturday night keggar...they couldn't even bother to return the pre-stamped RSVP card. I haven't talked to them in 2-3 months, and I'm nervous about seeing them. I'm wondering if I should have even agreed to go (my best friend talked me into it), because I'm still feeling bitter/hurt about it.

Complaint
We are going away this weekend and I would LOVE to leave early today, but I don't think it will make a difference unless I leave REALLY early.
MIL is having a show-the-baby-off party on Sunday, but she schedule it at 5PM. Thanks. We really wanted to be driving back to Baltimore on Sunday night instead of getting up early on Monday to go home. Also, DD gets tired and fussy about 6:30 or 7 and just keeps crying until she can get to sleep.
I really wish I could get pink eye so we could stay home. I went to a business conference last weekend and spent the time working, so I really have not had a day off since June 18.

LMAO!!!! I love it!
I'm a horrible tipper.... meaning that when the guy picks me up at the airport and drops me off at my car, I NEVER have cash to give him a buck. I feel HORRIBLE and know I need to keep $1's in my wallet but I always spend them on a water/soda during the week for work and never have them for coming home and leaving at the airport. I have been really bad it recently. Last night I only had Canadian money in my wallet, which doesn't help him. He was super nice too

Confession: I have had a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich every day this week during naptime.
Complaint: The house that backs up to ours got a new roof put on this week. The workers were loud and using foul language, so I didn't feel comfortable going out back with Aiden and him hearing that.

I can't come up with a good confession...but man, I've got a complaint.
Do not ever shop at the Tile Shop. (big tile store, one in rockville, one in colmbia) MH went to pick up what should have finally been the last of our order this morning and not only did he have to demand a manager come over to even get somebody to figure out where our tiles were, but they weren't all there.
Again.
We originally placed our order in January and it's been nothing but mistakes, re-orders and BS ever since. I have to give them credit, because they added several items that were missed in the first order without charging us for them, but it was their mistake in the first place! And really...7 months later, we still don't have everything? I was all ready to forgive the initial screwups when they agreed to fix them for free, but now that the order is wrong AGAIN it's is just unforgiveable.

Take an old 20oz coke bottle. Put some grape juice or piece of banana in the bottom. Make a funnel with a hole just big enough for them to crawl through. Tape funnel into top of bottle, making sure it's sealed tight. The fruit flies will crawl in down through the funnel hole, and usually aren't smart enough to find the hole back out. After a few days, throw it away.
I used to work in a fruit fly research lab. I've had many a fruit fly up my nose :P
