I should have worked out tonight. I really wanted to work out tonight. I had every intention of working out tonight, as soon as I had put both of my children to bed.
But because DH hasn't moved his computer downstairs, I couldn't use the treadmill. Every time I go on the treadmill when he's on the second floor playing his game online, he loses his internet connection. We use a relay router thingamajig to run the wireless throughout the house, and apparently since the base is in the basement (and close to the treadmill) it's too much stress on the electrical wiring of our house... and he can't play... others are depending on him... it's a raid night... blahblahblah.
He had said earlier in the week that he'd be moving his gaming computer to the basement, where it will be hard-wired into the internet, rather than depending on the wireless connection. Said he'd move it downstairs before playing on Friday night. Yeah. Didn't happen.
So, while I really hoped to work out tonight and just burn off loads of calories and get out my frustrations and pent up anger, it didn't happen.
So, instead I ate a Magnum bar. Talk about doing the complete opposite of what I was hoping to accomplish tonight.
I'm catching up on Wednesday night's SYTYCD performances, and figure that I should probably at least try to get some exercise in tonight. So, I'm going to get off my duff and dance right along with the contestants in my living room. I may look ridiculous, but who cares? Not like many people will be able to see me anyways... except perhaps the passersby on the main road which just so happens to have a great view through my picture window... if they happen to slow down enough and gaze in my direction.
I think I'll chance it. Now to try and dance my butt off. It's not what I was hoping to do, but after putting all that out there, I'm not letting a video game take away my entire workout tonight.
Next up on SYTYCD, Mitchell and Caitlynn... AND ALICIA! Performing a sexy samba choreographed by Jean-Marc... with some improv choreography by ALICIA!

Re: rambling rant... (not the most eloquently worded)
are you on the main road we talked about before? I AM SO SLOWING DOWN & LOOKING NEXT TIME!
I'd be irked too. Actually, I'd have run anyway and then claimed I thought he *somehow* hard wired the router to the computer since he didn't more it.
I definitely feel it in my abdomen this morning! Lots of wiggling and jiggling in my living room. Surprised I'm not feeling it more in my thighs. I guess that since I am always chasing after a toddler and a preschooler, squatting to pick their toys or them up, and lugging one in each arm when they refuse to listen has strengthened my legs as well as my arms.
As for the main road.... yeah, that's probably the one we talked about... but you driving down my road would be slightly out of your way. Might be worth it for the peep show though!
But, I am most definitely doing some hill intervals tonight! And, if it just so happens that he gets disconnected from the internet because he didn't haul that computer downstairs today, it's his own darn fault!
YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh - and I would totally just exercise - it's his own fault if he hasn't moved the computer ;-)

Yep!! I told DH the story, and he basically said the same thing!
He isn't always clueless.
Hope you had fun dancing though, Alicia!! That sounds WAY more fun than the treadmill anyway.
Problem with dancing is there really isn't enough space in my living room to move around like I'd like to in order to truly get a good workout. I was kinda forced to move within a 2 1/2 foot box of clear floor space (where I'd still be able to watch the performances).
But, tonight, DH *did* move the computer downstairs, and as soon as I had put Kyle down in his crib, I went down and kicked my butt on the treadmill. I haven't touched it in months (for various reasons), but pushed myself to do more than an hour at the "weight loss" setting (simultaneous speed + incline intervals). Once I started getting comfortable, I pushed up my speed and the incline too. Got so into my workout I managed to pop out the safety key about 40 minutes in... (thank you iPod... yes, I'll admit it... I rocked out to Broadway, had a playlist that was all uptempo and I would have normally belted out the songs right along with it, burning even more calories, but wanted to at least be nice to DH tonight since it's his first night in the "new digs" right beside the treadmill in the basement) Then I had to reset everything, and added a couple extra minutes to my remaining time, as well as bumped up the speed and incline yet again.
Whew!
Now if only I can commit myself to do this at least 5 nights per week, I might actually attain my personal weightloss goal for the year: 20-30 pounds (30 puts me at a nearly ideal body weight for my height according to those BMI calculators) by NYE 2011/2012. I'm hoping that by putting it out here, I'll feel the obligation to be more accountable.
What the hell is a magnum bar and why is it in your house!?? ha ha. seriously is that just code for "really big ass chocolate bar?"
Yes, we need a play date b/c Gianna misses Shannon. And yes I am going to school you
I agree with pp that said I would have worked out anyway and it would have been toughshit for him if he got booted off!
Magnum Ice Cream... it's in my house because I *had* to try it since I'd heard rave reviews and wanted to see if it lived up to the hype (it's new to the States) http://www.magnumicecream.com
Won't be buying them often, but it was sooooooooooooooooo yummy.
I'm all about accountability by publishing ;-) Keeps me honest.
And Alicia, my goal is 30 lbs by year end too for ideal BMI, so let's do this!!!! My food is on track today finally so hoping to squeeze in some workouts but may have to wait b/c of work tonight, we'll see.
