Anyone going to the beach this weekend?

I'm heading to Dewey after work for a girl's weekend. This is the first summer that I haven't lived on the Eastern Shore, and I am not looking forward to the traffic going over the Bay Bridge!

Anyone else headed to the beach?

Re: Anyone going to the beach this weekend?

  • Enjoy your trip!  We're not beach people in general and crowds and traffic make me stabby, so we're staying close to home and enjoying a quiet weekend.
  • I'm heading down there!! As long as you leave soon or wait until tomorrow morning, you should be fine.

  • Debating if I'm going to go up to NJ beaches for the day on Sunday...part of me says no, it's not worth the crowds and traffic and part of me says heck yeah, who cares if you'll be in the car a total of 6 hours round trip because 4 hours on the beach is totally worth it!

  • I think if you leave before 4 or after 7 you'll probably be okay. Honestly when I go down on Friday afternoons I tend to hit the most traffic on the Severn River bridge for some reason if they have enough lanes going east on the bay bridges.  But thats not for holiday weekends usually.

I want to go to a beach!  I'm so jealous.

  • We may go down Monday when everyone is leaving....  we are going to wait and see how things workout.

  • We live down on the eastern shore too (between Salisbury & OC) and we avoid heading to the beach like the plague on holiday weekends.  Too much traffic and chaos for me!  But enjoy your girls weekend.

  • Yup! Hopefully leaving in the next few hours. But I'm already on the other side of the bridge.

  • We just returned home today from a week in Ocean City!  Stayed at my boss condo - so we only paid for food/excursions/travel costs.  Weather was wonderful everyday and I'm teary eyed thinking about going to work on Tuesday.

Whenever we go to the beach if we hit traffic it's always the Severn River bridge, it's so frustrating!
