having movers pack and move you is the best money spent! of course, we could never afford this, so it'll never happen again (thank god the employer is footing the bill). but this is glorious! they showed up at 830am and got to work. they have boxed up the house and loaded the truck, which they weren't supposed to do until tomorrow. they'll come back tomorrow to haul the bed in to the truck and head to WV, and so will i! of course, i'll be back, but we'll spend the weekend unpacking.

H and I used to get a new apartment every year. For the first few moves, friends helped...but it was always less and less people. By our second to last move, it was me, H, and BIL. It was AWFUL - things broke, muscles were pulled, tensions were high - that's when I decided I'd never to a mover-less move.
We saved up and got movers for the first time when we moved into our condo...and HOLY CRAP. By the time I finished eating a bagel, all my earthly possessions were loaded into a truck - they even packed up the little stuff I was going to throw into my car!
Long story long, I'm totally with you. MOVERS RULE! And how awesome that your H's company paid for them!

Yes!!!!
Now, I did have them leave behind 1 tv and a few odds & ends, so I'm not totally out of the water, but it's a consequence of not being able to relocate with DH immediatey. It's far better than packing this joint up myself though! I'm in shock! 6 hours and it was DONE. HOW IN THE WORLD?!
Moving in this apartment was a PITA. I'm so so glad we are about to sign a lease for a full year, not only because it means we'll be in one spot for eighteen whole months, but because we don't have to MOVE!
I never researched it, how much does professional movers cost? I swear I'm not moving from this place without them. I can't help H haul a sofa, mattress, etc down three flights of stairs that turn. Nowayinhell.
