House question

What's the best way to determine where to put the house number on that house? I've thought of getting a plaque like this:

which we could mount on the house beside the door (might be hard to see though) or on the porch railings (easier to see). Our house number is a single digit though....is a plaque overkill? I think that would be easier to see than a single number stuck randomly somewhere. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Re: House question

  • I like the plaque. When we get a house I plan on getting one. I think they are nice and it helps when you are looking for a house and it is so hard sometimes to just see a number somewhere. I think probably on your fence where it can be seen.

  • Your street name is pretty short, isn't it?  So I think a single digit on the plaque would still look okay.  I agree that putting it next to your door would make it difficult to see.  Could you put it above the porch steps?  Your railings aren't very wide, so I'd be worried that it would look a little odd on them.
