Either we have someone trying to get in, or its a ghost!!! Twice now in the last hour someone or something has tried to open our door (thank goodness for electric locks), couldnt open it and as I looked through the phone thingy saw no one (the first time) and just the back of a head the second time. The weird thing is our stairwell has sensor lights and they didnt come on till we opened the door! (stairwell is outside the apartment leading up to the frontdoor but still enclosed in the building). Each time after trying to get in the door they rang the bell.
Lucky for us I have a very very very protective dog that barks at any noise that is not common in the house such as the front door trying to open with all her peoples in the house! As soon as it clicked she was barking and growling with fur raised crouched down ready to pounce. She is now sitting in the middle of the floor and her gaze is locked on the door.
We have moved ds1 onto a bed on our bedroom floor for the night since his room is right next to the front door and H has the tball bat on his side and I got my softball bat on my side of the room!
We called the MP's who have in turn called the KMP's who will prob. be doing a sweep of the area and keeping an eye on things which I do not know. There have been a rash of break ins on the first floor of the buildings in the area but we are on the second, so I hope they are not moving on up. They will prob call back as soon as my heart stops pounding and I am halfway alseep. Scratch that they just left and will be patrolling the area alot more!!
So after all this and the police not seeing anyone in the area I so have the orginal Grudge movie running through my head! I so need to go to sleep!
(edit for title change because it didnt sound right)
Re: Someone tried to get into the house!
We have 2 bats under the bed and one in the closet by the front door. We can also open the closet door to the point where you can't open the front door if things got iffy.
I have some mace on my key ring too.
Oh scary! Our bedrooms are all upstairs and ours is directly above the garage. When the house was remodeled last year they installed a rod iron fence around the front yard. We are the only house that has that on the street but it makes me feel safer. And my Dad insisted and payed to have an alarm system installed after we moved in because our neighbors reported that each house on the street has been broken into at least once over the course of 20 years. At the moment we don't sleep with a bat or anything upstairs but E does have some swards in other rooms in the house since he collects them.
I hope everything turns out to be okay and that you guys get some sleep tonight.
This. Except we also have two hand guns by the bed. That is scary though, I don't think I'd be able to sleep that night.
