How's your Keratin treatment holding up? I'm interested in trying it, but I've never known anyone that actually got it done...
Re: AmyDrinkie
I really like it. I actually just got it done again last week; my stylist said it was supposed to last 6-8wks with daily washing and I could tell my hair was getting unruly again about the 2mo mark. I got the express version b/c it still leaves the hair with a little volume, and you only have to wait 8hrs to wash your hair vs. 3 days. I would die if I had to go 3 days w/o washing or putting my hair up (you can't tie it up until after it's washed).
It makes my hair easier to blowdry (about 30% faster and I don't have to fight with it as much brushing it out), and my style isn't killed by humidity as soon as I walk outside. Plus, I don't have to use a bunch of product to hold a style anymore either - I just use a heat protectant before blowdrying and hairspray for finishing if needed. I hate the feeling of a lot of product in my hair, so that alone is a big plus for me.
I do use the shampoo that's the same brand as the keratin treatment (Coppola) but my stylist includes it with the service, so that's nice. It's sulfate free but also says it doesn't contain sodium chloride; I don't know if other sulfate free shampoos contain that or not. I definitely think it contributes to the smoothing feel, b/c after I knew the treatment had washed out we went to the lake and I forgot my special shampoo and had to use whatever was there, and my hair felt kind of crunchy afterward, like it used to before I got the keratin treatment. Then after I got home and used the Coppola shampoo again, it felt a little smoother. And it couldn't have been the water quality b/c the water is actually worse at our house than it is there.
If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer.
I do! What's your email? I don't want to keep this post up at the top for my hair nonsense questions lol.
