Stove drip pans

Know of an easy way to clean them or keep them clean?  It seems like things are always boiling over and I have to scrub them almost weekly (I mean hard scrubbing, not just wiping them down).  I use Comet and a scrub pad.  I can't wait to get a smooth top and not have this issue (we had 2 before we moved in this house and they were so much easier to keep clean).  Please help with any tips and tricks.

Re: Stove drip pans

  • I usually buy the cheap tinfoil drip pan liners at the dollar store or even wal-mart. When they get dirty I just change them and wipe down the drip pan itself. I'm sure they aren't classy looking, but it helps. You could also use tin foil in a pinch.

  • I've tried covering them once, but that was a PITA and took forever, plus looked cheap.  Buying cheapo ones seems like a good idea but I think we'd go broke (it's sometimes 2x+ a week that I have to scrub them, so even if they're only $1, that's over $100/year).  I just wish there was some easy way to get them clean, or something I could put on them so messes wiped right up.
  • When I had a stove with drip pans, I cleaned them with Easy Off oven cleaner.
