Aw, my poor puppy is terrified of the fireworks! I feel so bad for him! He's currently curled up on my lap (keep in mind that he's a Pit Bull, so typing is a task right now), trying to sleep. Every time a new boom goes off, he gets scared.
He was abused before DH and I adopted him, and he's very scared around loud noises like thunder. We were worried that he'd be scared of the fireworks, but it makes me feel so terrible seeing him so scared!
Re: My poor puppy...
I totally understand! We were laying in bed last night when our dog started freaking out - apparently he could hear the local fireworks and we couldn't - he also hates all loud noises (was tortured with bottle rockets as a puppy)

Oh my gosh! There are such sick people in this world. We're not too sure why Zeke is scared of loud noises, but know he was abused as a puppy. He runs away when he sees a hammer, which makes me cry because there's obviously some history there. I just cannot believe how cruel people can be to animals for no good reason. It makes me sick.
Zeke finally calmed down, but tonight are the local fireworks, not our neighbors, so we'll see how it goes.
