Long Weekend Report - What did everybody do?
How was your holiday weekend? Where'd you go? What did you do?
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now?
Re: Long Weekend Report - What did everybody do?
How was your holiday weekend? I went to OC to visit some friends and had a great time laying on the beach, cooking out, and watching the fireworks.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? Thankfully today is a half day for me and I have off on Fri, since I have to work on Sat
My weekend was pretty excellent.
We stayed around the house for most part, friday and saturday MH and our friend (and I) worked on the basement some more, and we've officially met our deadline to have the framing done in time to get the HVAC guys in there in time to get a rebate that was about to expire. Yayyayaya! Also...I have walls in my basement again! I mean...you can walk right through them, but the floor plan is coming together.
In celebration of the fact that we didn't have anything that needed to be done on the house, we spent all day sunday being lazy lazy bums. We slept in, took naps, and ran to lowes for a couple of things, and then bought fixin's for nachos and had junk food for dinner while watching netflix movies all night. Then Monday we hung out with my sister and I got to snuzz my cute little niece who is growing way too quickly.
And after such a great lazy two days, I reeeally don't want to be here.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
It was decent. On Saturday we celebrated my grandfather's birthday with a cookout/crab feast with my mom's side of the family, on Sunday we celebrated FIL's birthday with H's side of the family, and yesterday we stained half of our deck and ate crabs left from Saturday. And lit some fireworks in the front yard. It was our only day without obligations and after a weekend of running around, this year we just wanted to stay home and get things done! So we did. The 1/2 of the deck that we stained looks great!
Not happy to be back, it's going to be a slow week, not much going on.
How was your holiday weekend? It was excellent! I'm sad it's over.
Where'd you go? We actually didn't go anywhere to celebrate the 4th. We were going to go see the Inner Harbor fireworks from DH's new office building (perfect view of the harbor), but DD was such a defiant little thing during naptime yesterday that we took the away from her.
What did you do? We ate our lunches out, spent a lot of time at the bookstore, went to Target and Michael's. DH did some wood-working. I did a lot of reading. DD did a lot of playing and some movie watching and a WHOLE lot of boundary-testing.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? I'm really not eager to be here, but it's 4-day work week, so I'm trying to look on the bright side.
It was good! Friday night I went swiming w/ DD and 2 of her friends and then we all went for pizza. At the pizza joint we ran into one friend's neighbor and their baby and our girls (preschooler/toddlers) put on an impromptu "concert" for the baby. It was pretty hilarious and cute.
Saturday, we did some Target shopping for our beach vacay next week and then had a fun playdate and cookout w/ school friends. I know I'm biased, but I love watching the kids all interact w/ each other. We just made spaghetti for dinner and DH and I watched True Grit.
Sunday - met a friend for playdate and her neighborhood kids parade - which was pretty hilarious and cute. I took DD over to my mom's to spend the night and then I got a little shopping in for myself, and then met up w/ DH to buy new appliances (glug!) and then we went up to Baltimore to see the new Xmen movie and had dinner @ Oceanaire. The best part of the date night though was that I slept until almost 8:30 - HEAVENLY!!!
Monday - we futzed aroudn teh house watching TV, cleaning, etc., picked up DD around lunch time and went swimming. We were supposed to see fireworks last night, but DD fell asleep on the sofa while we were waiting for our friends to come over - LOL. I thought she might stir when the showed up, but nope, she was down for the night.
UGH - not happy to be here today, but I have a ton of crap to get through so I can go on vacation w/ a clean slate!!
How was your holiday weekend? Our weekend was wonderfully quite. We have been gone every weekend for the past 7 weeks, so we were more than happy to stay at home and do nothing.
Where'd you go? We went to my IL's for a cookout on Sunday
What did you do? Nothing really, just kept it simple
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? I am a SAHM so I don't have to go back to "work" but it was nice having DH around for an extra day to help out.
How was your holiday weekend? It was splendid and I had a blast
Where'd you go? Friday: a memorial svc for a friends mom and just hung out at home; Saturday: 1st birthday party with family; Sunday: Church; Monday: gmas birthday and 4th of July
What did you do? Mainly spent time with family
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? UGH...work work work...but only 4 days so that is a plus.
Friday: we went to one of our favorite pizza places after work, DH tells me on the way there that our neighbor had just given Sean a Klondike bar and he ate the whole thing (
); as a result all he wanted to do at dinner was run around and try to color on the walls, so we had to shovel down our pizza really quickly while trying to entertain and corral him.
Sat: DH went fishing and Sean and I just hung out, played, did some grocery shopping, very low key.
Sun: My dad had a pool party for the family and it was a blast. Sean had so much fun in the pool and has no fear of the water at all. We ate a lot of good food and were all exhausted when we got home.
Mon: Not much, but walked to our friends house for a cookout and threw the football around in the backyard. ate more good food.
... every single day of forever.
... every single day of forever.
... every single day of forever.
sorry to hear about the teething! I hope those little tooths pop soon.
Just because I miss it pgh, where'd you go to dinner and lunch?

How was your holiday weekend? I haven't had a weekend this fun in a loooong time.
Where'd you go? Chicago for a girls' weekend to visit a friend who lives there.
What did you do? Went to the beach, went out to dinner, ran along the lake, went to a Cubs game, had a deep dish pizza. The weather was perfect and we just let loose.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? I am like night of the living dead right now, my flight got in after 11pm and driving through downtown was a nightmare last night. I really should have taken off today!
How was your holiday weekend? Great! Where'd you go? For us it was a travel weekend. We drove from SC to Durham and visited friends on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Then Saturday evening we drove home (best decision we made) What did you do? Sunday after we got back, we went to a friend cookout. Sunday DH and I went home alone and cleaned the house and washed all of our clothes. Monday we had a cookout with my aunt.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? I definitely didn't want to come back. I thinking next time I vacation, I'm taking a few extra days off to recoup.
How was your holiday weekend? We had a very relaxing weekend at home
Where'd you go? What did you do? Visited with IL's who live down the road, BBQ'd and went for a swim in their pool.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? Since I follow the school calendar I'm still off
My weekend was borrrrrring. Got my hair done Saturday morning. Wedding Sat. night. Sunday I had all these plans to be productive, and that didn't happen. Monday, I was productive and planted a ton of new stuff out front, which was excited. Then H and I had to drive in the Bel Air Parade. WooHOO-NOT.
I didn't see you, mama! What vehicle were you in? I assume it was for DH's work?
How was your holiday weekend? Where'd you go? What did you do? It was great! Went to NYC for the Linda McCartney photo exhibit and to see Wicked with my mom, aunt and cousin. Spend Sunday running errands and then had a little cookout with just DH and me yesterday.
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? It felt like the night before the first day back to school last night.
No where fancy. We were out in the 'burbs. We went to Primanti's and Atria's (in Murrysville).
How was your holiday weekend? Awesome! We relaxed around the house after returning home on Friday from Ocean City.
Where'd you go? Stayed home since we just got home from vacation.
What did you do? Yard Work, Gardening, Vegging
And how little do you want to be back in the work week routine right now? I was like a BEAR getting out of bed this morning. I had a horrible night's sleep. I think mainly because I've caught up on sleep from being off and was secretly dreading the return to work. I maybe got 3 hours sleep.
