S/O Casey Anthony- Sentencing

If the jury does come back w/a first degree murder conviction:

1) Do you think they'll sentence her to death?

2) Would you sentence her to death?

3) If they do choose death, do you think Judge Perry will overturn it and give her life in prison?

Re: S/O Casey Anthony- Sentencing

  • 1) Do you think they'll sentence her to death? No, I don't think so based on who's on the jury.

    2) Would you sentence her to death? No, while I'm not against the death penalty I think it should be reserved for serial killers and the like.

    3) If they do choose death, do you think Judge Perry will overturn it and give her life in prison? N/A

  • No to all three.

I think she'll get first degree but not death penalty because of the lack of hard evidence. I never support the death penalty, so I wouldn't personally choose that sentence. I do think that Perry would up-hold it if they did recommend it, though.

  • I don't think they'll sentence her to death.  In my own mind, I definitely would - people who kill children don't deserve to live in my mind.. but in a court setting, I don't think I could based on evidence.  I think that the Judge will go with life in prison.

  • I'll say no to all three. Honestly, for her, it seems like prison is the worst case scenario. Her frantic phone calls to her parents about getting her out when the case first started, and now how she's been portrayed to the general public (and some prisoners can see it on TV, I'm sure), I'd imagine prison would be much worse. With all of the years from all the charges, I can't imagine she'd ever get out. I think she'll have a long, hellish life there.

Yeah, I was looking at that earlier. I don't think they will either and while I'm not against the death penalty, I couldn't go with it for this particular case. If there was more hard evidence for the murder and premeditation, possibly...but I'd need pretty solid facts if I'm going to live with that choice.

  • 1) Do you think they'll sentence her to death? No- I don't think there is enough evidence

    2) Would you sentence her to death? No - completely agree with Madisen on this.

    3) If they do choose death, do you think Judge Perry will overturn it and give her life in prison? I don't know enough about Judge Perry to answer.
