Yes, another C.A. post - Why do you think...
it's such a popular case?

Re: Yes, another C.A. post - Why do you think...
I have a few reasons
1. What happened is so deplorable. How could she think no one would notice when her child was gone? And how could she lie about a nanny? And live her life like nothing happened? Did she not EVER think anyone would start questioning her?
2. The family seems pretty crazy. I think there are webs of lies and coverups, and you're just waiting for something to unravel. The mystery of who is the father is also pretty crazy.
3. The defense pulled out all kinds of crazy reasons and theories.
4. It seems SO obvious that it's like, come on, the verdict HAS to be guilty, right? What right minded juror wouldn't vote guilty?!
5. Casey Anthony is a young, (used to be) attractive girl. If this was a father or older person, it might not draw as much media attention.
I think for me, I literally feel close to the case. This all happened on streets whose names I recognize and there was even a classmate of mine who testified.
Anytime there is a young child murdered it always generates attention due to the shocking nature of that kind of crime.
Plus, there is just something so bizarre about this case, no one will ever know what REALLY happened. The whole family is a trainwreck.
This is why if I was on the jury the most I could do is put her in jail for a long time. I don't trust her parents. At all.
ETA: With this all happening very close to where I grew up, I've followed it since day one when she was first reported missing. Add to that everything Ashlee said about a beautiful little girl, a once young and beautiful mother, the horrific nature of the case etc it makes for an attention grabbing case.
