Back story about him: He's going into his 3rd year of college, is in AF ROTC and one of the top people in his detachment.
He change his degree from a tech to a non-tech degree halfway through this last year. He received a slot for field training this summer and did everything he was told to do to get ready for it. 3 days before he was supposed to leave, he got a call saying his detachment screwed up his paperwork, and they still had him as the tech degree. And he was told he may not be going now. He's been in limbo now for a month waiting to see if he will go to a later date, or get denied.
He found out today he was denied to go. I feel so bad for him. If it were his own fault for not doing something or even if he had found out from the start that he wasn't going, it wouldn't be as hard to take. I've never seen him so bummed out because he's really passionate about all this. I feel bad and upset for him.
Ugh, thanks for reading this vent! I just don't have anyone around at the moment to vent to about it and needed to get it out.
Re: Vent (AF/Brother related)
Did he have a pilot slot or something similar? I know that they like tech degrees for those slots... Why did he change his major?
That really sucks, I am sorry.

If it makes you feel any better. Stuff like that can happen with ROTC programs. I know of a case where a program had to cut a bunch of people out completely in their 3rd year. When all was said and done it was clear that those were invited to stay had math/science majors and those who were cut had liberal arts majors.
It really sucks that they take so long and so many twists and turns to get all that stuff straightened out, regardless.
