Goooood Morning!

Welcome back everyone!  How were your long weekends?

We lost both baseball games last night, whomp whomp.  And it sort of sucked because we had soooo many people (our full roster of 16) so there was a lot of sitting and not a lot of batting.  I could really see the difference in my burn between a game like that and a game where I field every inning and bat more often.  Oh well!

We ordered the tile for the kitchen on the weekend and hopefully will be picking it up today.  This is very exciting.

How is everyone today?

Re: Goooood Morning!

  • Good morning! Hope everyone had a happy Independence Day/Canada Day!

Saturday H and I spent the afternoon on the Harbor reading and watching sailboat races.  It was lovely. That evening we had dinner with a family we're friends with downtown, and then H and I took a walk and got Pinkberry, yum.

The rest of the weekend was mostly spent running errands and cleaning the apartment in preparation for the Fourth of July brunch we hosted yesterday for our families. My parents and sister are in town and it was so nice to spend the day with them. Brunch was delicious (we had bagels & lox, a zucchini ricotta cheesecake, raspberry lemon scones, berry salad, and mimosas) and we all had fun.  Then we all took a long walk around our neighborhood and headed downtown for dinner and the fireworks on the Charles River.  Boston fireworks really are the most fantastic I've ever seen and we had a PERFECT view of them.

All in all, a fantastic yet exhausting long weekend!

  • I'm okay.  Yesterday was super busy for me...as I mentioned in my gardening post.  On the bright side, I finished most of the chores around our house this weekend (just need to put away clean laundry today), so for once in the last two months I don't have a long to do list!

I was wiped out yesterday after all of my gardening/running/etc...so I thought I would sleep really well, but I had one of the worst night's sleeps ever last night.  I tossed and turned all night...yuck.

Nothing much going on today...I will get in a short run, then I have a dentist appointment.

  • we had an interesting weekend. our internet went down on Saturday and then the computer decided to take a dump as well. so I spent my 4th in Wal-Mart with my grumpy DH getting a new computer and router.
  • This long weekend was much needed. I had Thursday off as well as Friday for Canada day, I spent Thursday handing out fliers for a fundraiser we did on Saturday.

On Friday DH and I started driving to a nearby city for their fireworks but, there was an accident right ahead of us and they ended up closing the Highway so we had to go home. In the end we went and watched the fireworks at the town beside us, our city doesn't have fireworks.

On Sunday DH realized he could be finished school in the first semester if he took four courses instead of in two semesters. So I am pretty excited that he may be done by December.

  • Good morning!  I love a week that starts on a Tuesday.  Plus, the boss is out this week so it should be a good week with many things getting done.  There is not much going on this week - one morning I need to go to LapCorp and get blood drawn, but that's about it.

We had a busy but relaxing weekend, which included mini-golf, a junior version of extreme couponing (which I was so proud of, I put it on my blog), Broadway theater and a BBQ, but no fireworks.

  • Good morning! We had a great weekend. We went to Kyle's grandma's house on Friday after work. We stayed there through Sunday afternoon. We spent Saturday at his aunt's pool. We hung out there, grilled out and had a few drinks. On Sunday after we got home we met up with my family for dinner. Yesterday I went down to my mom's house to visit, as my sister and brother-in-law were down for the weekend. We spent the day hanging out in the pool.

Today I'm exhausted. All of the pool time, drinking and traveling has taken a toll on me. I'm looking forward to a relaxing evening at home tonight. Kyle is working out of town this week so I'll have the house to myself to be as lazy as I want to be.

  • Morning ladies.  I had a fantastic weekend.  Friday, B and I just relaxed for awhile and then went out for dinner.  Saturday we went to the burbs to hang out with our nephews, and SIL and I went for mani/pedis.  Sunday we took the dogs to the beach and then went to a bbq at a friend's.  And yesterday, we had brunch with some friends and then watched the entire first season of Shameless.  If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.  The only downside to the entire weekend were the teenagers setting off fireworks in our neighborhood last night.  They totally freak the dogs out.  I don't care so much during the day or even in the evening, but after midnight, not the best for my getting any sleep.

  • Good morning ladies.

We went camping, and it was interesting to say the least.  The boys were off on their naptimes (I actually had to drive one of them around to get him to nap), didn't want to go to bed, but otherwise was a great time.  I think they really enjoyed being in the fresh air all weekend.

We got back Sunday, unpacked, and we all took long showers and naps.  Very refreshing.

Yesterday was spent doing 7 loads of laundry, cleaning, and getting things in the house back where they should be.

To put into perspective what an idiot I am, came in today to put my name on our time off calendar for Thursday, and realized I was supposed to have today off. Yeah, longer weekend fail for me. Oh well, at least I still have Thursday.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Good Morning. This weekend was pretty great. Hung out with new people, one in my building. I like actually knowing my neighbors. Sunday we drove up to my In Laws and hung out on the lake. It was so awesome to swim.  We took their boat out and swam at night. You can see so many stars. We also bought mortar fireworks. I didn't know for 30 bucks you could buy something like that. It was amazing.

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

P.S. The lake my in laws live at also had a huge party for Canada Day. This is a super small town so I was surprised.

  • Good morning ladies. Today is my first day back at work from maternity leave and I just dropped Olivia off with my mom. I've been dreading this day but I know it's what's best for our family. Hope you all have a great day!

  • Good morning all!

I couldn't sleep at all last night. It was really warm and I was just restless all night. So I'm not feeling so great today.

On a brighter note, my presentation yesterday went really well. Today I'm making the same presentation but to a different audience so I hope that goes well too. Then the pressure is off a little bit although I'll still have a lot to wrap up before Friday.

starsailorr - vibes for a good day for you and hope the day goes by fast so you can get back to your little girl!

  • Ringy - Good luck on the presentation today!

We had a fabulous weekend at the Blues Festival. The performers were good, there were a few disappointing, but overall we had a blast. My body definitely needs a break from the fried food and alcohol.

Today is my big meeting with management to see if we can come to a mutual agreement on some terms of my employment. I'm not very optimistic this morning, but it's been a long time coming. Any spare good thoughts available around 1PM PST, I'll be happy to take!

  • Good morning, ladies

We had a good weekend - busy, but fun.  I did hear some bad news last night, though - a friend from high school passed away over the weekend.  I really liked her, and had reconnected over FB in the past few years.  She recently went through a bad breakup; I hope it didn't have anything to do with that.

Have a great (short) week everyone!

  • Morning!

We had a good weekend, I spent majority of it on the river which was so relaxing.

We went to the fireworks last night and didn't get home until late then I didn't sleep well so I am paying for that today.

Tonight, we are going to the Twins Baseball game and hopefully not getting home way too late!

We have plans all week so it will be a busy one and I have a lot of things left over on my to do list from the weekend.

  • I was catching up on old posts and wrote all about my weekend in yesterday's good morning. Oops! Glad to hear everyone survived the long weekend. I can't wait for some good nap time, but I did realize I have another vet appointment tonight, which means I'll be home super late. Booo. Hopefully I can claim rights to the bed before DH does and fall asleep without him waking me up a billion times.

  • Afternoon, all! I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend.

I'm hanging out at home, did the laundry (we slacked off on it yesterday), and did some cleaning. Next up is the gym and then some pants shopping at NY&Co (and maybe a side trip to DSW). I've been moving around a lot today, which is a nice change from just sitting at a desk all day. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, but I am very excited about starting the new gig next week.

Tonight will just be a nice relaxing evening since I was able to get a bunch of chores out of the way today. So that means hanging out with H and doing some reading. :)

    Have a lovely day, ladies!

  • Today was ridiculously busy at work.  I'm stuck at the smaller hospital until next Friday so I'm the only one there.  I didn't get any breaks or my lunch and ended up staying 15 mins late.  Ugh.

We are just getting dinner ready now and then we are heading out to the funeral home.  The funeral is tomorrow (I'm a pallbearer) so I won't be at work.  It is nice, though, that my work will give me a compassionate day so I still get paid.  I'm hoping to talk to one of my aunts tonight to see if they have any initial info on cause of death from the autopsy.
