MacMoron

I got a new MacBook over the weekend (and earned my Starbucks gold card - how metro could I possibly get in one weekend?!) and am totally overwhelmed.

It hasn't been a very big deal to adjust to using a Mac from my PC but there are a lot of little things that are just different that I am having to adjust to. I know a lot of y'all are Mac users - any advice or tips? Programs to download? Major differences I should know about?

Also, part of the reason I needed a new computer is because I trashed my old one. I take it with me everywhere all. the. time. so I really want to protect this one as much as possible asap (my old one may have also spent a little quality time in the kitchen and may have had some run-ins with various sticky ingredients...).

There are about 3,902,938,430,297,304,983 different shells/covers/skins on Amazon and at least as many keyboard covers and all of them have conflicting reviews. What do YOU recommend? Would a shell do much more in the way of protection than a skin?

I'm so indecisive. And I don't know wtf I'm looking for :) Heeellllpp!

Re: MacMoron

  • Shell  My BIL carries his Mac in a shell similar to that. He is very hard on his things and the hard shell has kept his mac nice. My mac doesn't leave the house very often but when it does I have a bag like this made out of a billboard for wifi advertisements.

The finder will be your friend. top right. :) you can type in anything and your mac will find anything that is relevant. It's like Microsoft search but much faster and better.

Command+Shift+3: takes a screenshot of the full screen (or screens if multiple monitors), and save it as a file to the desktop.

I can't really think of anything else besides  yeah for a mac!
