So, we are making moves to cut FIL out of our lives.
Personally, I'm thrilled. He still owes us a substantial sum of money, and until that money is paid off, he'll still be around. But last night I was talking to DH and told him that I'm sick of it. Usually we go to my parents house for Christmas and FIL makes this whole big deal that we have to come over to his house the day after to open his sh!tty presents he got us. DH said we are not going, and we're not buying him gifts. We are also not spending Thanksgiving with FIL. DH has had his limit, I reached mine long ago, and we are done.

Good for DH! Everyone has their limit, and it sounds like a good thing that he's finally reached his.
