Anniversary Gift..B Pics?
Trying this again, after I was ridiculed for accidentally posting on other boards...
Planning on a boudoir photo session for our first anniversary as a "paper" gift to my husband. Any ladies on here have experience with this? Any advice on looks/poses to stay away from, or anything that is a definite "do"? Thanks!
Re: Anniversary Gift..B Pics?
My sister in law does these and she is amazing. Were in tulsa but she has great photos!! Imagovitaphotography.com is her website. There is a boudoir section and some girls have done it more than once! She only shows the ones her clients allow and does as nude as you want but those aren't shown of course. Were in Tulsa but maybe you can look for some ideas!
I just did them for dh's 40th bday. He loved them!
I had my hairdresser come to my house and do hair, makeup and nails. I had about 6 different outfits I used including jewelry and props ( CDs, conch shells * I did lots of bikini shots* white sheet * she used it strategically placed when I did the nude shots* ect.). My photog posed me which was great( less stress on me). She first asked what parts of my body I didn't like and that way she could work around it. She used a digital camera and after every few shots she let me review them. If I didn't like some she would dump them and take them over again.
I had the whole shoot done at home and it took about 2 hrs. I had a blast and would certainly do it again! I think the key is being comfortable with yourself AND with the photog. I hadn't met her until the day of the shoot and she made me feel so comfortable right off bat.

Our local newssite ran a feature article about a ladies' photographer who specialized in 1940s-1950s style photographic sessions a la Betty Page and Candy Barr.
The photos are not only for women to give to SOs/BFs/spouses -- women come in as part of a bachelorette party or a "ladies' afternoon out." It was pretty cool and pretty interesting.
There was a lady who posed for racy cheesecake/boudoir shots in her wedding gown. Now, that had to be something to see.;)
You could go for the typical lingerie shots (or full monty if you want to dare to go that far) or if you like 1940s style cheesecake shots or some other period in time, you might want to specialze your session on that time period.
I think it is a great idea! I have heard of some ladies who wear one of their man's favorite shirts to pose in and the guys just love it!
I would look for a photographer that is skilled in this type of photography, and interview them to make sure you are comfortable with them. I would also suggest a friend going with you during your session, just in case.
I am thinking of doing this for my H for our 1st anniversary also.
Thanks ladies! My wedding photographer is actually doing the session with me; she's phenomenal, and I'm already so comfortable with her! I was kinda stuck on how many outfits, and if there are certain poses that are definite "wins" for us ladies, but I guess it all depends on body type.
For you ladies who did these as gifts; did you get an album made?

I know I'm a little late to the post but I did these as a wedding gift for DH - your photographer will definitely be able to pose you in flattering ways. Also, be prepared to be sore the day after, it felt like I had done a yoga class or something. Like PP, I gave him an album and also have the DVD with the pictures from the album.
This was a huge confidence booster for me, I never knew I could look so sexy & beautiful. DH cried as he flipped through the album.
ETA - for one of the outfits, I used DH's Vikings jersey. He loved that...
