grinnysgirl

Hi!  I feel like I have been in a cave for a couple of weeks.  I wanted to thank you soooooo much from the bottom of my heart for all the help you gave me during a tough time.  It felt like I was spiraling out of control.  Things are looking up now.  I have been able to mange the symptoms with medication and as of yesterday I am now picc line free...they weighed the benefits...my skin developed and now has a HORRIBLE rash under the dressing site.   Oh my goodness...red, and blistered and the blisters have opened and are all crusty...did you experience anything like that with yours?

Thanks for all of your help.

  • butting in too, to say that I really hope things improve a lot for you soon!  I am pretty sure grinnysgirl did have the same sort of rash, and it turned out to be an allergy or something?  if you still need the picc line (i am pretty sure she did), they can do something to help w/ the rash.  she'll be a lot of help to you i bet!

  • Hi there! So good to hear from you! Sorry it has taken me so long to respond- I have been on vacation. I am so happy to hear that you are doing better and were able to get the PICC removed! What awesome news! How many weeks along are you now?

I can definitely sympathize with the awful rash. I had several very bad rashes over the course of my PICC. The stuff they use to clean the site can make your skin react really badly and I ended up also being allergic to some latex in the netting that held my line on. It spread to my neck and was AWFUL. I had to be on Prednisone and three other medications to get it to go away. Ugh!

I hope that the worst is over for you now and you can start to feel a little more like yourself. How was your experience with Dr. H? I hope that you liked him!
