I just read this update to the sexual assault that happened to a 5 year old several weeks ago.

I didn't think I could possibly lose any more respect for disgusting Steve Leffler but I have. He's a puke for this statement: ?This is a kid with no record, and he can?t pick his nose without anyone in the neighborhood knowing he is doing it. He is absolutely no risk,? said Steve Lefler, who represents the latest teen accused.
REALLY!?

Re: Disturbing update
I seriously honest to god do not understand how defense attorneys do it. I really dont. I know the whole everyone deserves a fair trial, innocent until proven guilty, blah blah.. but SERIOUSLY how do these people sleep at night?!
I also didnt realize until I read that article last night that they made the girl perform the same act on her BROTHER.
This whole situation makes me sick, and it is even worse knowing that it happened in my neighborhood.
Did you see this article?

Doesn't sound like this family sounds too remorseful to me. I am guessing that they will be run out of the neighborhood at some point. There are fliers on the mailboxes in Avalon, but someone tore them all down in Deerwood.

The second family seems like they are trying to do everything they can.
No kidding! Even though they know someone may be guilty, they work to get them the least punishment which is bs. I know someone who had Steve Leffler as an attorney. He is well known and expensive as shiit because he can work wonders in that courtroom. It be will interesting to see what kind of punishment these kids get. At least they found video even though that is even more sickening.
UGH! I hadn't read that article. That's even worse! That boy's mother doesn't appear to give two shites that her son is a sexual predator.
Absolutely fvcking disgusting.

yeah. gross. I feel really bad for the brother and sister who were just playing at the park. Sounds like that one boy in particular didn't have strong, positive guidance judging from his mother's behavior. That's sad, BUT he should know right from wrong.
From what I understand, the park is literally right across the street from their house (its in a neighborhood), and the mom had been down there with them but went inside for a few minutes w/ her infant baby.
I know the first instinct is to say, I'd never leave my kids alone like that! Buuuut.... they were together, it was right across the street.. ugh, it probably felt safe!
This was my initial thought as well. However, now in the articles it has been saying that the time frame was somewhere between 4 and 4:45pm. I can see running in for a few minutes, but obviously 45 minutes is a different story. I am starting to wonder if the mom was ever really there.
My parents would've left my brother and I and nobody would've thought anything about it.
Right? Ryan was all up in arms about it until I compared it to our two nephews (6 & 4) walking down the block to play at the park and then he kind of understood. Pretty sad world we live in these days.
I read the OWH article today and it made me physically sick. The kids, the parents, the attorney. Yuck.
Steve Leffler would actually do his clients a better service to NOT talk to the media.
I could never be a criminal defense attorney. First, I would have an extremely difficult time living with myself if I was providing due process for people I knew were guilty. Second, my law enforcement uncle would shun me.
