if you make salsa chicken in the crockpot - Q
I haven't made this in awhile (a year?) but I made it yesterday and it turned out pretty well - not overcooked like the last few times I made it. But. ... it was really bland IMO. I served w/ rice and black beans adn cheese - and it was moist and shredded nicely but bland. What do you serve with it or mix with it?

I make it a little spicier than I normally like my food - like I usually just eat mild salsa so I make it with medium salsa. The salsa mellows out a lot.
I also use thighs and it adds a bit more flavor I think.
Do you sprinkle the chicken with taco seasoning first? That makes a big difference too imo.
Did you rub the chicken with taco seasoning first? That seems to make a big difference. I serve it with rice too but put some taco season in the rice water as well for more flavor
yeah - I did the taco seasonings packet.
I'll try doing it w/ spicier salsa next time.
