QOTD: Project 333

I recently read about Project 333 - an exercise in "living with less" by limiting your wardrobe to just 33 items (including clothing, accessories, jewelry, outerwear and shoes) for 3 months at a time.  These items are not counted as part of the 33 items: wedding ring or other piece of jewelry that you never take off, underwear, sleep wear, in-home lounge wear, and workout clothing (which can only be worn to workout).

If you chose to participate, what are 3 "must wear" items that would absolutely make the cut?

What items(s) would you first put away or get rid of?

If challenged to participate, do you think you could do it?

If you chose to participate, what are 3 "must wear" items that would absolutely make the cut?  brown zip-up sweater, black & white striped 3/4 length shirt, favorite jeans

What items(s) would you first put away or get rid of?  about 3/4 of my shoes - and purchase one new pair of shoes that could be more multi-functional (I've had my eye on a pair); a bunch of jewelry that I think I like -- but that I never actually wear; drawers & shelves full of T-shirts that I hang on to but also hardly ever wear

If challenged to participate, do you think you could do it?  I think so... But I'm also guessing I might allow myself a few freebie items.  In all actuality, I probably don't wear too many more items than this on a monthly basis anyway, so with a little strategic planning & a new mindset, I think I could be successful.  The key for me would be deciding how many & which items to leave out for business meetings at work -- while also leaving casual options that may also be okay for more casual office days.

  • For me that's easy peasy because nobody cares what I look like. I could get by with 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of jeans, and a few short and long sleeved v necks, flip flops and ballet flats. lol

I'd get rid of a bunch of my sweaters and dresses.

I really should try this.  lol!

  • If you chose to participate, what are 3 "must wear" items that would absolutely make the cut? Hmm..that's hard. Probably my plain v-neck tees from Target. I were those all the time! What items(s) would you first put away or get rid of? Dressy shoes I never wear. I have a million of them they haven't been worn in months! If challenged to participate, do you think you could do it? Probably. I have quite a few clothes but I have some main pants/shoes/shirts that I always mix & match to wear. For winter I wouldn't be able too...I always wear cardigans only tees and scarfs. I'd fail over the winter months ;-)

Black dress pants, dark wash jeans, my go-to black & white lace cami

What items(s) would you first put away or get rid of?
Everything that doesn't fit! ha! Shirts that can't be worn in multiple settings (work, evening out, & going to the grocery store). T-shirts because I don't ever wear them, except maybe to bed. I could get rid of a few pair of jeans (but that would fall in the doesn't fit category too).

It's seasonal, right? So I can pull out my winter boots and sweaters later, right?
Yea, I could do it. I very rarely wear accessories/jewelry and don't really like shoes. It's nice out so I wouldn't need any outerwear.
    1 necklace
3 pair of shoes Do workout shoes count if only worn to workout?
    4 pairs of pants
    1 skirt
    2 dresses
    3 nursing tanks
    2 nursing shirts
    1 shrug
That leaves me with 15 or 16 shirts and tank tops, depending on if I need to count workout shoes. I'm assuming that socks count as underwear items, but if not, I guess subtract 4 shirts so I'd have 2 pair of workout socks and 2 pair of black dress socks.

  • I could sort of do this, I have stuff that fits in the workout area and not fit area.

    1brown pair of dress pants

    4/5pairs of black dress pants

    1gray pair

    2pairs of jeans

    3pairs of goucho pants (black/gray/brown)

and probably about 10-15tops I rotate, I wear the same brown or black dress shoes depending one what I'm wearing. And I've had the same dress sandals since HS, as I bought them in Italy- such fine Italian leather :) And I actually, just tossed out a few pairs of flip flops. But still! This is good!

  • This would be cake for me, since basically I just alternate between work out gear and "in home lounge wear" all the time.  I very rarely dress up.  I am surprised they exempted in home lounge wear.
