Karmic Retribution...

What did I do in my life that was so bad that I have a toddler growing out of his nap times just in time for my last trimester of pregnancy and the overwhelming exhaustion that comes with it??  Im hoping that once my mom is out of the hospital and things kind of go back to normal that everyones schedule will go back more to normal and I will get some energy back. Otherwise, oi!

Re: Karmic Retribution...

  • Jake rarely naps anymore, but goes to bed earlier without the nap, so at least there was a trade off, I actually prefer the early bedtime to a nap!
  • I would die w/out nap time!! Thank God, Abby naps 1-4pm & I have to wake her at 4pm or she will keep sleeping!

Can you put him in the crib to just give him quiet time? Oh, he is in a toddler bed right? Maybe that is why he stopped napping? Much more fun to play. :o

Addison is 4 and usually doesn't nap but we do have "quiet time" she knows it's time to sit and color, watch a movie etc. while Abby sleeps.

  • Bummer. I semi-know the feeling ... I'm not exhausted with pregnancy but just with work and school though. And though my kids usually do nap, it's rarely at the same time. lol.
  • The last time Davis napped regularly, he was about 15 months.  Be happy you made it this long!!  LOL

I prefer the no nap to be honest, sometimes he will nap once in a blue moon and those days he is up till 11 p.m.  I'd much rather have him in bed by 7:30 p.m. and up at 8 a.m.  with no nap.

  • Abby still goes to bed by 9pm and sleeps usually until 8am. She is a crazy good sleeper. No complaining here. :o)
  • Sloane typically will nap for about two hours in the afternoon.  Once I hit third trimester, school will be back in session so I won't benefit from it and I will be tired regardless but she will be in bed by 7-730 so that will be nice.  She has always been a pretty good sleeper (at least, after the first three months.)
