It has been a LONG time since I've visited this board but I was hoping to gain some advice. My husband and I have been TTC our second for over a year and it is time for us to see a RE. We didn't have any trouble with our first so I am nervous and totally clueless about this process. Does anyone have a recommendation between Dr.Doughtery and Dr. Macklin? TIA!
Re: RE Help Please
Have you talked to your OB yet?
We had problems and worked through our OB first.
She administered the hysterosonogram. DH went to Methodist for his work up and our OB administered clomid and did the ultrasounds. Luckily for us, clomid worked 1st go around.
We used Dr. Dougherty's partner (Dr. Oakes). We did see Dougherty several times - they alternate weekends and Dr. Oakes went on maternity leave the week after my IUI. I liked Oakes better, but DH liked Dougherty better. They were both really good, and we were able to get pregnant on our first round of injectibles w/ IUI and prometrium.
We had tried for 3 years, and done 4 months of IUIs with the OB - 2 months with Clomid, 2 without - and none worked.

I saw Janice Lunn, a nurse-practioner who dabbles in this stuff, both times - she works pretty closely with Mauds office. She can start you on your course, in the meantime, get an appt with Maud to just get on the books, it will be around 3-4 months. But Janice can do everything else - iuis, ect.....
Hey, I have 1 1/2 kids to show for it
The second was harder to conceive for us than the first. Seemed like my body was a little sluggish to respond to the meds second time around.
When we started with them, Maud was a 6 month wait, but we got in with Oakes in 6 weeks! We also tried calling Heartland, and they never returned phone calls, even just to set up an appt.
Whoever you choose, good luck!
