Holy electric bill!!

Just got my June bill.  Holy snot.  It's almost a car payment.  CRAZY.  Really wishing I had a roommate at this point...or that I could go ahead and land a job in Detroit where they don't have to run the a/c for 9 months out of the year.

Re: Holy electric bill!!

  • I ended up doing balanced billing to help out.  Even with getting a better rate a few months ago I know the next few months are going to be BAD!

Don't worry, the a/c bills are replaced by crazy high heat bills Wink

  • We just switched to a non-contract variable rate plan. We can switch next month if we so desire to keep the lowest rate...we just couldn't say no to 5.3 cents/KWH

  • I just opened ours this morning. It was about $100 less than I was expecting, so that's good.

I'm very excited to be off our time of use plan as of last Thursday. Our cost per day went from $10+ to $3+ without much of a decrease in use. Still, rrr had bumped the thermostat from 78 to 80 yesterday evening. When I told him he didn't have to do that anymore, he said he was conserving resources. I called B.S. "You're just being cheap!"

Thursday I'm setting it at 76 all day just to see what our daily cost is.

  • I was scared of ours but was surprise that it was only $51!!!  And we keep it at 73 when we're home.  DH says not to be too happy because next months will probably be double and they just got it wrong this month.  boo hoo!
