This might be a bit long, but it's totally been one of those days.
Started with a call to MTF to get LO in for a persistent cough. The only opening they had was 45 mins after my call. So as I'm scrambling to get us both ready for this appointment, I get a call from C. He says "I have bad news and worse news":
Apparently my FIL's car isn't working well, so they won't be driving out to visit next week like they planned, (despite our request that they not come out in July due to C's squadron's annual inspection.) Instead MIL is going to fly out by herself, and instead of staying 4-5 days she'll be staying 10 days. As if that isn't peachy enough he tells me the worse news. Instead of arriving next week, as planned she will be here tomorrow. B/c she is flying she needs a ride from the airport (an hr drive away) and wants a hotel room on base. The base lodging is booked full due to said inspection.
So I tell C I will call his mother and deal with her after LO's appointment, since he is in the field this week and wasn't able to call her until late this evening. I go to LO's appointment only to find that after 18 months of marriage DEERS is suddenly showing my maiden name. So after 2 hrs at the MTF clinic, I haul LO to the DEERS office, where we sit in an 85* waiting room for another 2 hrs just to have someone fix my name. Then I call the MIL who answers the phone by saying "I'm so sorry for the last minute change of plans, but it was just so much easier and cheaper for us this way. I just wish I'd been able to come out for longer than I am." WTF lady?!?!
Unfortunately admist all my running around I neglected to pick up a bottle of wine. Damn!
Re: I need a drink...
I'm sorry, that whole situation sucks.
67/200
Sounds perfect!! Thanks!!
And to make things even better: there is yet another gopher under our bath tub, and we already know housing can't/won't do anything about it. So I get to listen to it claw and gnaw at the tub and drywall.
Maybe I'll make that drink a double!
Mmmmm.... pie. I have yet to master the art of pie making...
Here is my pie ( well this is the exact pie but not my picture)
Red White and Blueberry Pie So yummy and so easy!
That looks awesome!! I'm not a big blueberry fan, but for early July, it would be the perfect pie!!
The blueberries are just on top you could totally swap them for raspberries or even just strawberries. What the recipe? I'll post the link to it.
Yes please!!
I have had trouble with Tricare and them spelling my name properly the last time I had TRS. One blamed the other and vice versa. I'm sorry you had such an awful day. And thank goodness your in-laws couldn't find a way to stay longer, huh?!
I hope your LO's cough goes away soon.
