As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Moms-Gift suggestions for 1yr old
We are going to a birthday party for our friends 1yr old (boy; don't know if that makes a difference at this age though) at the end of the month. I'm looking for gift suggestions.
One requirement- It can't be Fisher Price (her aunt works for Fisher Price and gets lots of toys for free).

Here are a few of my ideas:
Melissa and Doug toys are always great and colorful. They have really cute sand/dirt toys that allow the kids to explore as well.
If he's walking/able to push things, Xander loves his lawn mower he received for his first bday.
Thomas toys are always a hit with boys this age
Xander has a few shake and go cars that he loves. Target has a lot of the Pixar's Cars 2 right now.

He also has some Little People blocks he likes. I know my friend got them for him from Target.
Or like Dana said, Melissa and Doug stuff is great.
Kids love things they can pull with a string or "Spill and Fill" things. They like to stick stuff in other stuff and dump it out. (if you put Spill and Fill in Amazon, toys will come up).
