Is William just starting to do more events/trips, etc. now that he's married or is it just getting more coverage since he got married?
I don't remember ever seeing a black tie picture of him at benefits, etc. let alone coverage of a state visit.

I think its a combination of both. He's certainly in the public eye even more now (well in the US public eye) after his marriage.
Also - I am not sure if he had an official title before his wedding (Nutmegger, correct me on that one!) He was "Prince William of Wales" obviously but now he is the Duke of Cambridge and a host of other things.
But I think he has done some official visits before, such as a visit to New Zealand several years ago, etc. he was just relatively off the radar I think.
I think Americans liked him but now with the addition of kate we are just obsessed. And by "we" I am referring to myself.
