Hi everyone!
My DH is going through the enlistment process right now...he's got all of his paperwork in and is just waiting on the recruiter to let him know when his MEPS date is. I'm so excited and proud of him!
Our situation is that I recently got laid off from my teaching job here, with pretty sweet insurance benefits (we had a $7 million dollar budget cut, I was last hired, which translates to first fired...anyways...). My insurance through the school ended as of June 30th. Once DH enters boot camp, though, I'll be under Tricare. I had some complications with my pregnancy that has flagged me as having a pre-existing condition. Does anyone know what Tricare's policy is regarding pre-existing conditions? If I let my coverage lapse (by not paying the astronomical fees to be covered by COBRA), am I out of luck in regards to being covered by Tricare?
Thanks! I know it's a shot in the dark hoping that some of you may know the answer, but I've tried googling and am only getting so far... I'm looking forward to more and more posting over here!
Re: Tricare question
Pregnancy no matter how complicated is not considered a pre existing condition for Tricare. I believe tricare doesnt even care about pre existing conditions.
