Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

A little help please

I am leaving my job (that I haven't been happy at for awhile now) to return to school full-time to raise my GPA so I can get into grad school.  My supervisor (who is great) offered me a position as a ILP worker (basically a probation officer) a lot less hours and I get to create my own schedule.  She asked me to put in that I would like to do that job and how much the agency has helped me.

Long of the short read through this and let me know what you guys think.  I have never wrote a resignation letter before.

Dear Supervisor,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I will be resigning from my position as Youth Worker II at the H**** House on July 25, 2011.  I am resigning because I am returning to school to pursue a second bachelor?s degree in sociology and eventually my masters in social work.  If a position as an Independent Living Program Worker becomes open I would be interest in taking that position.  I would also like to take this time to thank you and everybody at the C****** Home  for the opportunities that you have provided and everything that you, and everybody there has taught me.  I know that not only will these skills help me in personal life but they will also help me excel in my professional life.

Sincerely,

The only part that reads weird to me is what I've bolded.  I'd suggest replacing it with something like "becomes available" or "comes open" (preferably the first one), other than that, it looks good to me, but I've never written one of those either, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt.

  • I agree with Raynes, though I've never written a resignation letter either!
  • I think it sounds good. I agree with raynes.

  •  Available does sound better.  Thanks ladies,
