Since Kiz made a list of random comments yesterday, here are mine for today ...
I am so bothered by people who eat chips from single-serving bags by just pouring the chips directly from the bag into their mouth. They never all make it into the mouth either, and then the person ends up with chip crumbs all over their shirt. It seems so caveman-like. I know it's chips and not fancy food, but still. It's gross.
Helpless people annoy me. Today at work, I have been asked for information by four different people ... information that is easy to find on our website. Can't you spend 5 seconds of your own time to go to our website rather than come to my office and make me print the web page with the info? You're wasting your own time and mine. This is why we have a website, so everyone can get the info they need at any time. I wish people could learn to be more self-sufficient.
I really want to try the Triple Chocoholic Blizzard at Dairy Queen. It's the July Blizzard of the month. Anyone tried it yet?
Despite my valiant efforts, I still have gophers all over my yard. I can't seem to get rid of them. The continue to dig more tunnels and torment my dog. The are gophers in all the yards in my neighborhood, so even if I killed off the ones currently in my yard, I think other ones would just move in. Darn gophers.
Re: Today's randoms
I have more randoms... (a.k.a. proscrastination...)
A tree in the yard across the street from us was struck by lightning on Friday and it was strong enough that it fried our whole DirecTV system. Everything but the actual dish had to be replaced today! The technician was kind of annoying and chatty. Blah. We lost everything that had been recorded though. DH will be bummed all of his Entourage recordings are gone.
My boss is going on vacation for 2 weeks. I'm totallllllly jealous of the trip she is going on. I had no idea there is Prairie Home Companion CRUISE. It sounds totally dorky to some I'm sure, but I think it would be a blast. She did one in Alaska a few years ago. http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/features/cruise/2011/
Our back patio is old and gross. We have grand plans to rip it out and build a deck but that probably won't happen until the fall. Every crack between the old pavers is full of weeds, some that are 3' tall.
But....I don't want to break my back weeding the patio because it's going away soon. I hope. Our neighbors probably think we're totally hillbilly. Oh well. :-)
I have 2. One is more of a rant though.
I have 3 positions to fill and some of the resumes I received are pathetic. People should be required to take an interview/resume class before graduating high school.
The baby robins under my deck have moved out and now I can powerwash, stain and paint my deck!
my read shelf:
I really want a cat but DH is allergic to them. BUT I'M ALLERGIC TO DOGS AND CATS AND WE HAVE A DOG. He just doesn't want to give a valiant effort like I do in taking allergy meds. Boo.
This is going to sound horrible, but my sister got rid of gophers in her yard by using rat traps. She's caught 13 of them. You do have to dispose of the dead gophers, but it's been effective for her.
My random: I've only been able to lurk lately because our computer is a piece of junk. Every time I tried to log in or respond it would crash. It hasn't done it in the last few days, so I'm hoping we've resolved the issue for now. A new laptop is in our future.
I'm irritated that people in the motorcycle club think DH and I are always available to work just because we've stepped up in the past. DH just got hired temporary and can't take days off. Our chapter is sponsoring the weekend campout this weekend and a couple of the people who never pitch in and never come early are pissing me off with their comments about DH and I. As in DH should just ask for the day off...I should come down early and help out without DH...We should do more while we are there because they're going early... F-them. (I think that was more a rant, than a random...)
I love the smell of the house when DH makes a new batch of beer. He is making some right now and I hate waiting to try it, I think this new batch will be a winner
