Overall, daycare day #1 went pretty well.
Connor cried a a lot when I left, but got better shortly after.
Paige had rough spots all throughout the day and was much sadder.
They came home excited and tired from a good day.
This morning... we haven't left yet... just eating some breakfast...
And Connor has been having mini emotional meltdowns all morning. He really said he liked "school" (we call it school) and had a good time ,
but he's been crying so much this morning and even said "I want to stay home" mid-cry...
Ugh...he's killing me...
update::
as we were leaving Paige was still happy and anxious to go.
Connor was just teetering between one meltdown and the next. He finally said "mommy I need a doctor"... I asked him why... "eyes hurt..."
Hmm just so happens mommy has an eye doctor appointment today. Nice try though kiddo.
Drop off -HORRIBLE! two screaming, inconsolable toddlers screaming and crying and clinging to their mommy. Ugh it was such an ordeal... and I barely made it to the car without crying...
Re: Rough Morning. Sad Kids = Sad Mom UPDATE
it's new experiences for all of you, and it's tough.
hang in there!
do the teachers help you at drop off - engage them in something so you can leave?
Yes...they were very good at that this morning. Paige was clinging to me, so the one (who we semi-knew from outside of school) was trying to get Paige off me and show her toys, while another corralled Connor to the block table and tried to preoccupy him...

oh i am so sorry, i hope it gets better
She's gotten a little better - although I've begun to pack quick little snacks that are her favorites for when I leave to distract her a bit - grapes, blueberries, raisins... she usually will grab the bowl and run to the table. Pick up was a bigger issue - she made such a fuss my mom really didn't want to go get her anymore - and everyone here who knows about my job knows that I definitely need Nana's help!
