QOTD - 7.7.2011

When I added the date in the title, I realized today rhymes.  "Seven, seven, twenty-eleven."

Anyway, here's a QOTD for ya:

What's the longest you've ever waited in line?

Does SOS count?  I used to be the title person for a truck dealership, and the longest I think I've waited for my number to be called is 2 hours.

  • Oh man, SOS is the worst! I think I waited 2 hours too. I had gotten divorced a year earlier and was dating my now husband. He kept bugging me to change my name back. So I went on my lunch hour. Ugh. After all that, two weeks later he proposed. I was actually kind of mad - I was like I just changed my name, now I am going to have to go stand in line again at SOS? LOL.

Ha!  That's funny.  I would probably have refused to take his name, but then my willingness to change my name in the first place was pretty tenuous.

  • I think 90 minutes to ride "Jaws" at Universal Studios in Florida with my Dad. The ride was ok but it was worth the wait to hear my big police man Dad scream when Jaws came out of the water right next to him. :)
  • I have waited over an hour in roller coaster lines.  Not sure if I've ever waited two hours.  I think our wait for the HP experience ride was around 90 minutes at Universal last Christmas.
  • I think I waited about 4 or 5 hours in line to get into a bar.  Which reminds me, HOLY HELL I was stupid in college and obviously didn't have anything more important to do with my life.

MSU was in the Final Four, so we waited to get into BDubs.  We got there at noon, and the wait wasn't that bad because we talked, ate, drank, etc.  Then we got into the bar some time before the game started.  And then after MSU lost and we tried to leave the bar we got teargassed.

So glad I waited in line for that!

  • I'm not exactly sure.  I know I've waited in long lines at Disney World as a teenager.  Somewhere in the 1-2 hour range.

I also waited in line for about 90 minutes to get into a political event in 2004.

  • I waited 7 hours in line for a general admission Jason Mraz concert...totally worth it to be in the front row Geeked

I've also waited in line overnight outside of a Marshall Field's just to buy Dave Matthews Band tickets when they went on sale.  In the winter.  This was before ticketmaster did online ticketing, and we made it so much fun :)

  • I think L waited in line over 4 hours to get his first iPhone (I think it was an iPhone 3).  I want to say that he also waited a really long time at Best Buy on Black Friday.  He obviously has a much higher "waiting in line" tolerance than me.  I am way too impatient to think waiting more than two hours for anything is worth it.

  • 2 hours for a ride at Cedar Point. And then numerous layovers at airports when the planes werent running on time, etc.

It was pretty tenous for me, too. I had hyphenated with my first husband. In the end I decided it was worth a fresh start with a new name.

  • 4 hours for Top Thrill Dragster when it first opened.  It was totally worth it!

  • You guys are way patient!

I think the longest I've waited in a line is about 40 minutes.  When at the SOS and SSO, I left when I saw it was going to be longer.

  • Probably 90 minutes at Cedar Point or Disney World. I'm not a stand in line type of person.

  • The first time I auditioned for American Idol, I camped for 2 days and a half days in line. It was fun but I wouldn't travel that far (Washington DC) to camp on the sidewalk for days again. The second time I went to Chicago the day before so I didn't wait as long.

I waited 3 hours for this, and that's probably my longest.  The ride kept breaking down and it was raining.  Haha.  It was totally worth it. I love this ride.
