Book Club: What's Up? - Book Thief - **Shannigans** Come In!
When is the next book club meeting? From the daily posts it sounds like everyone is not going to be finished with Book Thief by next weekend.
So what's the deal? When is the next book club meeting? Is it next weekend? Are we taking July off?

LOL. I voted for Aug because I am out of town next weekend. I know Shannon is out of town the first weekend in August but 8/13 would be cool for me.
But I am also not the queen of book club, so I am fine with just having read the Book Thief for fun and joining you girls in Aug with a new book.
I think we should move it to August. I ordered my off Amazon, so I don't have it, yet, but isn't it a thicker book (longer)? I'm not sure how many people (besides Leslie of course who is so devoted she stays up all night to read it - haha) have time to read it all by the 16th. That's not even a full month since the last book club.
Oh and also I voted August, because I can't do the 16th.
I chose to skip July. It didn't seem like anyone had any real interest and everyone's schedules were so busy. I started the Book Thief, but gave up because I couldn't get interested in it. I will pick it back up if we move forward with a book club meeting that people are planning to attend.
I hope Shannon's feelings are not hurt. Summer schedules can just be a little tricky. I also really hope we keep the book club going. I really enjoyed it.
Haha, I'm just torn because I probably can't make August, no matter what day it is.
I promise I will do my best though!

So, it would seem that August would be best for most of us. Did we want to do the 6th (first Saturday) or the 13th (second Saturday)?
Also, if we do move it to August we're going to need a new location. Didn't Shannon say she couldn't host in August?
If we do August, I vote for the 13th. If no one wants to host it at their house, we can find a Starbucks in a central location and just meet up there.
If Shannon can't make it, we would need to choose a new book or someone would need to be willing to lead the discussion on Book Thief.

I also vote for the 13th. Shannon said she was out of town the first weekend in August, so she could potentially still host the 13th.
Re: the book - I finished it last night and really enjoyed it. It was about 550 pages, so realitively long but it did read quickly. Give it a chance ladies!
If Shannon cannot host (but I am pretty sure she said she would be able to) we will need to figure out another host but let's worry about that later. I will change the title of this post to page her too, so hopefully she will come in here.

I am not sure what my weekends will be like in August since we are currently scheduled for trial but I will try to make the 13th. This has been a hard one for me to make much progress on although I'm liking it better as it goes.
ETA: We are scheduled for trial that next Monday so if it goes I probably won't make it but it could just as easily move.
