Ebonie

What are you reading?  I just finished my book last night, and for the first time I can remember, I don't have another book lined up and ready to go.  I feel a little lost.

Re: Ebonie

  • What book did you just finish? I'm currently reading "Madame Tussaud" [French Revolution historical fiction] that's actually pretty interesting. I'm a history nerd like that, though, so this is right up my alley. The book I read before this was "Anna and the French Kiss" - a little cheesy young adult book that was super cute.

I think I'm going to read "Room" by Emma Donoghue next...one of my co-workers just finished it and liked it. And then will come "Bossypants" by Tina Fey.

  • I just finished Peter and Max. A friend recommended it, and it was a fun, easy read.

I read a lot of historical fiction, but never anything about the French Revolution.  I used to do mainly UK history stuff, like Pillars of the Earth, etc.  I've read some books by Edward Rutherfurd, and enjoyed them for the most part (once you get past the first 100 pages or so).  I recently read Fall of Giants by Ken Follett.  It was excellent!  I also just read New York, also by Rutherfurd.  Very very good.

So, I read a lot of historical fiction, but I'm sort of looking for something different.  There are some series I'm interested in, but I'm not sure I want to commit to a series right now.

Speaking of series, if you are into young adult paranormal fiction, the Mortal Instruments series is very good.  I've read the first 3, and I'm waiting for the 4th to be released in paper back.

My friend read Room and she said it was very good.  I may pick it up, but I'm not sure about that one.  Another friend also recommended Glass House, which is a memoir.  She said it was really good.
