I bought it with the intention to wear it for our maternity pics but I'll also probably wear it to my shower. It wasn't what I had in mind, but it fits well (I even have room to grow a bit) and I think it's decently cute.
The only thing is...it feels kinda vintagey to me, which isn't usually my style. I do think it will look good at our photoshoot location though, which is an old mill.
Do I look like a 50's mom? Should I keep or hold out and hope to find something better? Opinions?

Re: WDYT of this dress? PIP
Now I just saw this dress on the same website and I think it might be cuter! I am going to drive myself nuts, for sure.

I really like the colors in the 1st one and I think it looks great on you. I like the second one but not as much as the first. I also think the first one will photograph better.
When are you getting your pics done?
My Acme Box last update 3/28/11
I prefer the first dress. It's not that vintage-y, I think it just looks really pretty and classic. The second one seems a bit short to me and may not be as flattering. I think you look great in the pic you posted.
Sidenote: I had a really hard time with dresses while pregnant because most of them just looked like tents on me. Maybe it was because I carried so low. I wore fitted dresses (ie: the one in my maternity shoot) because they were much more flattering on me! I'm jealous of ladies (like you) who can wear any kind of maternity dress and still look way cute!
I like the first one. The second looks short and i always prefer to not wear a tank in photos, they cut your arms off and make the eye stop, longer sleeves tend to make the eye not stop at your arm. Just my thoughts though. I think you'll look cute no matter what ya wear.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. It has really nice, bright colors and I think it will look good outside.
We're getting them done on Sept. 10th.

This crossed my mind too! There seems to be a lot of fabric in the skirt so I don't know if it would just make me look wide instead of pregnant:)
I'd actually prefer a really fitted dress to show off the bump, but the only ones I can find are super casual (like a tank top turned dress) or they're boring/ugly solid colors that make it look like I'm going to the office:(

I like the 1st one more as well!
Which photography did you go with? What old mill are you talking about (I'm assuming it's in the DC area)?
Off topic, is that mirror one of those standing ones or is it mounted on the wall? The trim around it looks nice!
We're going with Labor of Love Photography. She suggested Colvin Run Mill...it looks cute on the website, but I've never been.
The mirror is just leaning against the wall. We got it at Home Goods 2 years ago for a little less than $100

I was also thinking I would accessorize differently for the photoshoot and the shower. I do have red shoes too. I also have nude and obviously gold. I have brown leather high heeled sandals too, but they're super uncomfy so I don't know about those:/ I have lots of gold accessories but not so much red. I might have to get something new...

I'm late, but I would have voted dress #1, too. I think it will photograph beautifully.
Have you thought about have too outfits for the maternity shoot? You could have this dress and then something more fitted. We did 2 outfits for our epics. It doesn't seem uncommon for maternity pics.
Thanks DD!
Hmm I didn't really think of that...maybe if I can find something cute and fitted that's not too expensive! The only fitted things I have in my wardrobe right now are plain tank tops.

I really like maternity pics that have a statement piece around the neck, either scarf or big necklace. You could do one of your tanks with a cardi and big necklace. That would be very cute and very "you." You could wear it with jeans or maybe find a maternity pencil skirt.
That is true! Thanks for the tips!
