Hi.
I saw your post here and on FB about stuttering.
My niece Catie went through a phase around 2 or 3 where she stuttered a lot. My sister never had her checked out but she did come out of it after about 6 or less months. In my mind it was just that she couldn't get the words out fast enough. She knew what she wanted to say but would stutter trying to get them out.
When she would come to visit me she would say, "Do d d do you rememember me from Grampie's house?"
Re: **SBTibbs**
Hi! Thanks! It is really helpful to hear about other kids experiences with it.
From everyone I have talked to and read it does sound like it's really normal and will pass within a few weeks to months. It just freaked us out about since it literally came on overnight. Most of the time he will do it at the beginning of a sentence like you described, but he will also do it more than once in a sentence sometimes like "D, d, d, d you r r r r remember me f f from grampie's house."
We are doing everything Jackie and others suggested and it doesn't seem to be bothering him. It just heartbreaking to see him get stuck and I'd hate to think he might be missing out on saying everything he wants to say since he's taking longer than he used to. We're going to give it a month and then maybe have it checked out.
He'll be starting at a new preschool at the end of August, so I don't know how that might impact it. My biggest fear is that he will get made fun of for it when he meets the new kids, but the DCP is awesome and I'm sure would deal with it well.
Probably more than you wanted to hear about it, but thanks for asking (and listening!)
