Just signed up for a 5k!!!

My mindset is still that I'm "not a runner"....yet I just signed up for my third 5K!  I wonder when my mind will....change its mind.  Stick out tongue

If anyone is looking for a 5K to do you should definitely check this one out!  The course is SUPER pretty and relatively flat.  I've done it the last 2 years and was so excited they are doing it again!  It starts and ends on Boom Island and winds through St. Anthony Main and then over the Stone Arch Bridge.  Super duper pretty!

  • Good for you!

I *finally* started working out again and C25K is going well.  I was just thinking while running yesterday that I should find a 5K to get myself motivated...

You should do this one!!!  I've really enjoyed it the two times I've done it!  It's great motivation.  :-)

I just may Big Smile, although the thought of it is utterly terrifying.  Although, it would give me a reason to buy and break in some new shoes...and there's a t-shirt!

It's really not that scary!!  Trust me!  I've been towards the back of the pack both times but it's totally cool. The first time I did it I kept thinking, "They are totally judging me for walking" but in reality everyone is so focused on themselves that it's really no big deal.

And yes, the t-shirt is a perk.  :-)

It looks like this year they are doing time chips instead of having someone stand at the finish line and taking numbers.

Even if you end up walking parts of it (which I've done both times) it's still a great time and great workout.

  • I am also "not a runner"  yet I signed up for the Twins Territory 4k just for fun :)  The registration includes a ticket to the game and a t-shirt, got to love that swag!
  • Another "non-runner" here...but I do run because I stupidly signed up for the Warrior Dash at the end of the month and don't want to look like a fool!  So for that I am a runner...I much prefer riding my bike though :)
  • So I've never done a 5k but it sounds like good motivation to work out/lose some weight. Is this something I could bring a stroller to? I was thinking it would be fun to get DH to do it too and we'd bring Samuel.
